The League (TLG) seeking 3 GMs - Realistic OOTP22 League!

Hi all!

The League (TLG) is seeking 3 GMs as we move closer and closer to Opening Day 2025. We started as a 2020 league in OOTP21, and operate as a realistic league similar to MLB and have continued with a very strong core group of GMs into OOTP22. We welcome both veterans and people new to online leagues! The teams we are looking to fill are:

Toronto Blue Jays (76-86) - A standard competitive team for TLG, the Blue Jays are coming off one of their worse seasons. They still have Vlad Jr, and he's locked up. Lot of free space to guide the team in whichever direction you'd like! Hoping to find someone to dethrone the 3x WS champion Red Sox.
Colorado Rockies (71-91) - The Rockies have one of the best SP in TLG, a perennial MVP candidate, up-and-coming stars, and a terrifying lineup. They also just so happen to play in one of the most competitive divisions in TLG with some super active GMs.
Miami Marlins (70-92) - one heck of a job to take over, please do not inquire unless you're serious about the rebuild and understand prospect management. This is a great job, and a good GM will reap the benefits very soon with some of the best young talent in TLG. This gig is only going to be better and better as we move into the future.

Other TLG stuff:

Communication - Slack
Sim: daily, 7 days in game, typically around 6pm - live RTS sims during the regular season
Overall + Potential scouting is OFF. Universal DH!
Podcast with guest hosts, welcomes new voices!
Prospects drafted in the 10th round or later can be renamed
Very active for writing, stats, research
We're global, have players from NA, EU, and Asia!

Don't join this league, the commish is a deadbeat who mismanages the league
League simmed all the way to spring training with empty teams and teams on AI control that screwed up the budgets
I took over the team at the start of spring training with -15million budget and was told I couldn't make any trades to fix the budget issues until after opening day, when I had willing trade participants to help me clear by budget nightmare.
Was going to have to go through an entire season with some AI cobbled together disaster

This league has OVR/POT turned off and the type of trades you will see in here are outrageous and downright laughable. Before I left the league for good, I was offered a trade of a 30 year old career minor league player claimed on waivers in the prior sim for the #10 prospect in the entire league - this is what you will deal with here

This is a real trade I was offered in this league and other GMs said it was a good offer - this is an old boys club waiting to jump in and trick any new GMs that join the league thinking they won't know any better because OVR/POT is turned off

Rockies job open. Other two spots filled. Don't worry about the man above's warnings.I've been in the league 5 in game years (first online league in OOTP) and its been a ton of fun with a lot of really relaxed and friendly GM's including a friendly and fair GM who is very generous and helpful.

The Rockies job is solid with a lot of big bats and a CY Young talent in his prime and some real solid SP prospects. Spring training soon.

All complete lies, the team has been mismanaged for years - if you join you will be stuck with a disaster that the commish won't help you dig yourself out of

The finances for the team are in the red, millions of dollars negative. Spring training is the next sim which is when finances lock for the year. The draft has pick negotiations enabled, what will happen to all the draft picks? Released due to negative budget and commish refusing to allow a trade to clear salary prior to spring training start.

The wording in the constitution is clear that only teams joining midseason have to wait to trade, no mention of the offseason. There is an exception for a team joining at the trade deadline, then they can trade all the teams players away - yet you can't fix the team budget woes before the season starts.

Just look at the first post from a year ago, the same teams they are trying to fill a year later because of the disaster job the commish does running this league. The above poster lying through his teeth about the team when it is clear as day the team has been mismanaged for over a year now.

Any commish who rushes simming through an entire offseason with an empty team then doesn't allow the new GM to make any moves for opening day is a fraud

Maybe we can start a gofundme for you big boy, get some fictional therapy..we can even have that free agent that was going to change your team be the therapist.

You sure are pissy for someone who was going to finished in last place.

man this was fun.... OOTPs supposed to be fun and I dont take kindly to extremely negative attitudes, condescending demands, or requested rule changes immediately. Sorry this league wasn't for you but I do hope you can find one you enjoy!

To anyone looking for a league still, we have 26 GMs that have been here for 2+ seasons (with the vast majority being here for 4+), 2 that just recently joined (and like it!), and an open Rockies team. We'll welcome you with open arms!

I was in this league a few seasons ago and I'd have to agree with the negative comments.

The commish was involved in a lot of shady activity during my time there, there was blatant collusion in trades, and GMs would hop from one team to another after tearing down an organization, and making trades with their old team.

Myself and others left after egregious lopsided trades went down (see Fernando Tatis Jr). Better off not wasting time and energy on this league.
