Request AAGPBL Parks
Today i went to Rockford, IL and went to whats left of Beyer Stadium, home of the Rockford Peaches. I am thinking about trying to create an AAGPBL database and in order to do it I need the ballparks. Worse case i make the league within OOTP itself with teh ats from the AAGPBL website. Anyway, could someone make the parks from the league. Beyer stadium would also work great for beer leagues as well.
There is a new A League Of Their Own show coming to Amazon soon and Beyer Stadium might be the home of the AAGPBL museum in the near future, I have 15 more photos.

I'm happy to take a swing at some of them in the near-ish term. Milwaukee and Minneapolis already exist, though the latter is from the wrong time period and I'd need to update it.
Do you have a particular year you'd like tackled first? Are you hoping for an (eventual) complete set, or parks for a few key teams? |

OK, I'll put them on my to-do list. If only to set my own expectations, there are roughly 20 fields (according to Project Ballpark) so given my usual pace and other parks I'm looking to make this might end up stretching into 2023. A little bit of prelim research suggests that some of these parks have very little info, so those will naturally be left for last.
![]() As with other things, I'm certainly not claiming territory--if anyone else feels like jumping in, please feel free to do so! As noted, Borchert Field, home of the 1944 Milwaukee Chicks, is already available in a Silvam version (here) and I made Nicollet Park, home of the 1944 Minneapolis Millerettes (here, but in more of a 1910s apearance). So at least those are done. I'll start with the parks used in 1943 by the four initial franchises (Rockford/South Bend/Kenosha/Racine). |

A note and a question...
I'm doing the research and starting to tackle Beyer Stadium first. It looks like the pitching mound and bases were at shorter-than-MLB/MiLB distances for basically the entire history of the AAGPBL. So, there's already an ahistorical situation there, which we can't get around.
There is a style choice that we can take into our hands, though. The aerial photos suggest the RF line may be as short as 240', and it wouldn't surprise me if there are small dimensions for many of the other fields too, given that a lot of them were crammed into football fields etc. Given experience with other small fields, OOTP will stick outfielders at a typical distance for a current-day MLB outfield, which may mean they're standing in a parking lot or in the bowels of the stadium, only to emerge when making a play. Do you prefer that I (and/or others) fudge the 3D model so that the dimensions are larger than historical to avoid that? My impression is that the 3D model and the actual play (and park factors etc.) are totally separate so it needn't affect results, only how it looks. |

I prefer that they accommodate OOTP. I'll probably use Dead Ball modifiers to keep the HR totals down.
