I went to purchase the game today and now its only half off at $19.99. It went up for the Halloween sale....?

Well, clearly that sale has ended. It's still a good deal at $19.99.

I can understand the OPs question here. Maybe I misread the details of the $9.99 sale, but I thought it was a World Series promotion so I was a little surprised to see the updated “sale.”

It’s likely up to the new parent company.

There was no mention of a sale in the forum, but for some reason I went to the OOTP website this past Tuesday and saw that the game was available for $9.99. Needless to say I bought it. I guess if I had waited one more day the price would have been doubled.

Maybe they have found over the years that sales actually go up during the World Series

If I remember correctly, the sale was celebrating the World Series. I don't think it was ever listed as lasting throughout the World Series. And I know for sure that I got an e-mail a couple days ago saying there was only one day left.
