Can A Playoff Schedule Be Changed?
Just to make sure I don't mess up my playoffs, I need to know if I can make a change in the postseason schedule once I start a series.
It is a best-of-five series... I noticed I had given the home field advantage to the wrong team... I noticed this after I had played 3 games. I would like to flip the teams the last two games. Is this OK to do? Would appreciate your help. |

You should be fine going into the schedule editor and making those changes. To be 100% safe, make a backup

I would highly suggest double and triple checking that you have the right number of games scheduled, when you edit them that they're set as playoff games, etc... But yeah, generally speaking, you can manually edit things like that and it should be fine.

Maybe also check playoff settings. You might have put the wrong number of games for home and away

I have never figured out how to NOT have post the season start 2 (or is it 3) games after the regular season. And I also would like to schedule an extra day's rest between the Championship Series and the WS, but I have never been able to do that. Even when I edit the start date of the post-season in League Events (way before the post season starts), the game reverts back to two days (I think its two days) after the last regular season game. |

If you want to delay by a day, when the game switches to playoff mode, if you go into the playoff editor, there's a button to return to regular season mode. You can simply click that, and then when you advance a day, it will schedule it from there, so would end up a day later than normal. If you want extra rest between rounds you either need to use the fixed dates option if that runs on the correct dates, or manually move games, I believe. |

I manually reschedule all of my playoff games and place them as I want.
I also reset the home team if OOTP gives the advantage to the wrong team. Never had a problem. |

What if the wrong team is playing in the playoffs then can it be replaced by the correct team and would it advance to the next round if it won the series as the replacement team?
Another problem I had in the past(but not currently): many teams would be missing in the playoffs but then could they be added in the schedule editor and would advance to the next round if they won the added series(s)? |

Post-season. Although there are times when you might need to revert to regular season mode (see Matt's post above)... I actually don't know what would happen if you tried to schedule games during the regular season as Playoff Games...

I do it once the regular season is over... I do it in the postseason.
Not sure, but I don't think the game schedules the postseason until the day after the regular season ends. I did mess up one time because I did not follow Matt Arnold's advice: Editing which teams are actually involved in the series needs to be done in the playoff editor (where you set custom playoffs). If you can set it there, it should work, but you definitely cannot simply schedule games and expect playoff brackets to update. (quote from Matt Arnold) |
