This happens to me when I watch a game. It will be something like ...TV shows a double play, and I think my OOTP team turned it.

Also ...I tend to watch the game and my pitcher has a pitch count of 137.

When my team in on a winning streak and suddenly a garbage pitcher shows up with like a 7.00 ERA in 100 innings and just dominates my lineup like he's peak Pedro... it always heralds a weeklong funk. Always. ALWAYS.

And you can tell by the 3rd inning when your guys are looking clueless against that trash pitcher that this is exactly what will happen and there's no stopping it.

Some things I've noticed in almost every single version of this game when in play mode.

- If AI team has 2 outs and a runner in scoring position, they have a dang near 80% chance that the very next batter will get a hit. In contrast, your team against the AI with runners in scoring position and one out or less has about a 30% chance to score a run.

- After so many years of never fixing the game freeze bug when selecting to advance bases on a ball hit to the outfield, and even saying once it was actually fixed...it never was.

- No matter how fantastic your prospect is in the majors, it takes several years for their actual rating to match their potential. ESPECIALLY pitchers.

When I go to my team's pitching tab and it starts off by displaying their batting stats.

Things that can't be true but feel like it: I think when I consider pinch-hitting for the pitcher but don't, the pitcher usually gets on base. However, one time when I was congratulating myself for letting a guy hit a single, the next batter hit a ground ball, the pitcher got hurt breaking up a double play and went on the disabled list.

When I offer a guy a contract, everything looks good, and a week later with no further notifications I get a mail telling me he's signed somewhere else for a lower contract than I was offering.

This last season in my game, all 3 of the guys I went after did this and sent me their mails within a couple of days of each other. The last one, his contract was half of my offer and for the same number of years. I just threw up my hands in disgust and closed the game. Knocked the immersion right out of me.

I don't know if it is 'irrational' to be triggered by that TBF. People always say there are logical reasons why players in the game do this, but I've always assumed it was a bug.
