Sorry to be slow replying, I've been out the last couple weeks.
This is kind of weird, and if you don't have the option to check the files for logos, etc ticked, this shouldn't be happening. It doesn't happen for me though. So something odd is going on. Can you get me a copy of the trace file from immediately after you restart the game and it reinstalls the facegens? https://support.ootpdevelopments.com...debug-log-file Don't shut down or restart, just pause on the start screen after it does that, minimize and grabe the trace file and post it here? Thanks!

The reloading and rewriting of the facegens happens not on loading a save but when the game starts and I'm coming into the Start Screen. I'll record a video of what happens. If those 1,700 files are in the fg_files folder, this check doesn't seem to happen but if I clear or alter the fg_files folder, it does. It's like it knows I messed with the folder when the game starts from the Desktop and before it gives me the start screen it goes about this reset.

As requested, I turned on the tracer and then exited OOTP22.
Then I deleted all the files in the fg_files folder. All 1,746 files so that's 1,745 fg's and the readme.txt. Then I double-clicked OOTP22 to load the game. It spun up and I could see the installation banner at the top. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE7xGn1Q-3A Again, this banner and reinstallation/rewrite of the folder contents only happens if I remove all the fg's (or certain fg files or the readme or something else to trigger it to think a reinstall is necessary - still can't determine the tripwire). But after that tripwire is tripped, it seems to insist that these particular 1,700+ fgs must be the only version for these players I'm allowed to use. Here are the tracer files from the OOTP22 load where it is reinstalling those fgs. I didn't open the particular game file as the issue happens before then (on opening the game itself, not a particular sim) Thanks! |

gotta be a setting somewhere where it is loading game data every time you open the app. It looks like it is loading much more than just the FG files

Yes, but it's not "every time [I] open the app" - if the 1700 fgs and readme file are in the fg_files folder, it doesn't do that reinstall. Something about them being missing and the game seeing that upon opening triggers it to do the mass reinstall of everything. I'd like to know what the trigger is. it's, at its core, an If-Then function. I can see the "Then" than results (the reinstall/rewrite).... but what's the If? I trip the If by emptying that folder but do I need all the files there, one of the files there, some number of the files there? Hoe many of the default fg's must it see to not complete the "Than" as it were...
