Name mod not working after latest patch
Checked to see if others have experienced this, or have any idea what's going on here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=332204.
Seems like it may be a bug. What's happening is a name mod I used successfully many times (American (historical) first & last names) is not working when playing fictional after updating to 22.9.76. When creating fictional players in a custom game, all the players take the name of the human GM. This doesn't happen when creating fictional players in a historic game, just a custom (fictional) game. While I didn't make any adjustments to my world files or database when this issue started happening, I went ahead and reinstalled the game, just in case. The issue persists even with a fresh install. I'm on a Mac using Steam. |

The game overwrites the name file every time it's re-installed. Just replace the name files in the database with the modded one.
I usually keep a database copies folder that I can duplicate every patch. |

I've done that a few times. Unfortunately, none of the name mods work for me anymore. |

Here's a screenshot of my 22 database. The first_names.txt and names.txt files are name mods. I've completely removed the default names that come with the game from the DB folder.
Unfortunately, the game does not recognize the modded names whenever creating players. It instead gives players the generic GM name that comes with the game or names them Unknown. This worked fine until the last patch. I even installed OOTP on a brand new computer to see if it was my old machine, and the issue is the same. |

With the localized versions, I think we have moved to split out some various files for languages. Does it work if you rename those files to names_english.txt and first_names_english.txt?

Yes, that's it. The name mods work again. Thank you!!! I wondered if it was something like this, a simple fix, but I'm not smart enough to figure it out myself. Thanks again. |
