Corrupt Save File? Need Help

I’m getting the following messages in a single player historical save:

“Click OK to save the current files in a folder named ‘incident’ inside your league folder now and to let OOTP try to restore your game to the state of the last previous successful save. Click Cancel to return to the previous screen.”

Is the message I’m getting. Cancel is just the game Home Screen and when I click ok, it reads,

“The process failed to back up your potentially damaged saved game files, possibly due to lack of disk space. You can continue with the restore, but there will be no way to retrieve your potentially damaged saved game files”

Click ok there (cancel goes to Home Screen again),

“The auto-save feature is not activated or did not work. Click ok to return to the previous screen. If you have a backup, restore the database…(skipping because I don’t have backup)…please do not delete the “incident” folder inside your league folder now. The files there will probably be helpful for finding this problem.”

Click ok a final time (it’s the only option), and I get an error message saying “the loading of the database failed. It either corrupt or a save-game from an old version.”

I’ve gone to the incident folder but it gets me nowhere. I’ve also cleared space on my computer without getting anywhere. Can you explain like I’m 5 on how to solve this - if there is any solution? I’m not doing anything differently but I have never had this happen before. My other leagues, all online leagues, are loading fine.
