Yeah posting rules in ootp aren't the current mlb rules so it's weird. We get 26 and 28 man roster. We get pitchers facing 3 batters but posting is completely wrong even for Japan the biggest non mlb league.
But it goes with financials being completely wrong too. With a the big teams owning part of the cable channel and signing huge local TV contracts. So the entire tv and media finances are completely wrong. Yankees revenue was over 600 million last year in game it's half that. I get that the model a game uses will always be a simpler form of the irl equivalent but the ootp finance model seems like it's circa 2010-2015. Not 2020 |

When selecting all leagues, should I allow FA's to leave the Cuban league? Or only enable free-agency and posting?

Do you want them to leave, or be posted? I just leave it alone, the Cuban teams seem to cut players every once in a while so they do come across the free agent list. As noted in the thread, it's not particularly accurate but for me during play it's fine.

Just yesterday I decided to add foreign leagues and some fictional US Indy leagues to my ootp universe. I know that ootp players don't all agree on the "perfect" way to set up a Universe, but I just want it to be as realistic as possible. Quote:
Is it possible to adjust the quality of a league's players? Do I just lower the reputation number on Leagues & Teams? Or is there something else that needs to be adjusted? Right now, 3-4 people on almost every Japanese team rate at 4 or 5 stars. And that's when I have Ratings Relative to: MLB! Can anyone offer me advice on to handle this issue? Also, if any of you personally lower the quality of players on foreign leagues, just how much do you lower it? Like I said, I have those 3 foreign leagues mentioned above, plus I created two US Independent leagues from scratch. One is a league in New England - the other a league in Southern California. The New England league being a full grade (or more) behind the SoCal League. I might restructure my US Indy Leagues because I'd like to Establish one Indy League that's the best among US Indy leagues, and then 4-5 small indy leagues around the country who's players can advance to that main, best Indy league in my universe. And of course, I would like my MLB league to have a connection to that main, top-quality US Indy League who about Triple A quality, maybe a two and a half A quality.

I'm slightly worried about my S.Korean, Mexican & Japanese leagues adding so many free agents to my pool that I'm going to start seeing some very unrealistic numbers, in terms of foreign players appearing on MLB rosters.
This is what has always concerned me also. Does anyone have some insight regarding this? |
