I've been trying to collect all the facegens from the great facegen makers here on the FHM forums, as well as ones I've made myself from playing the game. The result?

This ongoing project includes:

Every NHL player from 1917-18 to the 2021-22 season, except for a few from the early days for whom no photo could be found. Almost every PCHA and WCHL player, too!

Every player in the history of the WHA!

Coaches, GMs, owners, several minor league and Euro league lifers and draft picks who never made it to the big leagues! (These can only be found in the main file for now, and only contains facegens from the 1920s and 1970s/80s, but I will add more probably make separate files for them later on).

I realize some of the old-timers and cup-of-coffee guys may not be the best quality, so if you think somebody needs an upgrade, please tell me, or feel free to make your own and I'll place it in the folder.

Well, I usually do it one of two ways. The first is just to go to Hockey Reference, get the list of NHL debuts for any given season, and make facegens for all the guys that don't have one yet.

The second is a bit tougher, but more comprehensive: Play out each season, then on July 1 go to Scouting, then Roster. It'll give you all the not-yet-drafted guys and free agents. You can then do it based on birth year, since new guys get put in every year. This lets you get some career minor leaguers and European league lifers that you wouldn't get using the other method.

If you want to just do teams, though, that still helps a lot! Pretty much any of the "Original Six" era is up for grabs, except for some of the really big stars. Thanks for the offer, and whatever you want to add is much appreciated, since you're one of the best FHM facegen guys.

Thanks for the pack! I do have a suggestion: do you think you could add European players that did not play in the NHL in the 60s and 70s? When I play in historical mode with Iron Curtain off, I usually sign many European players that never played a game in the NHL in real life. E.g. Urpo Ylönen, etc

Craig’s already in, and I think Dahlin too. Check birthdates - they don’t always coincide with the ones in the game (I used Hockey Reference for NHL/WHA guys, HockeyDB for everyone else). I’ll work on the rest this weekend.

I think they come in when you load the new game, but when a new season starts, you have to load the facegens for the new guys. That's how it's worked for me, anyhow.
