Honestly, I've worked in sports. Some owners are just f'ing idiots

I found this thread because I just had the same thing happen. The St. Louis Stars just fired Dickey Brown after four straight pennants. Prior to this, the Stars had done nothing, and even after the four straight trips to the Diamond King Championship (they lost all four to the juggernaut Washington Pioneers), the Stars still have a losing record overall.

Neal Dean, the St. Louis owner, is Unmerciful and Meddling, but his expectation is for his team to only play .500 ball.

Brown was quoted as saying: "We certainly didn't see eye-to-eye on every issue, but I guess at the end of the day they feel the team is better off without me running it. There's not much I can do about that," Brown told BNN. "Do I want to stay here and try to turn this team around? Of course I do, but such is life."

Turn this team around? How much higher can they go? Could Dean really be that tired of being the bridesmaid and never the bride? I don't believe any manager could help the Stars beat the Pioneers. Washington's pitching is just too deep.

I see this a lot, managers and GM's from winning teams getting fired, like everyone is a Steinbrenner.

In my sim the AI fired Sparky Anderson after he won back to back world series with Boston and then lost in the World Series in the 3rd year. I hired him as my bench coach after he went jobless for 2 years weirdly.
