OOTP 22 Patch (version 22.8.72) Released! (PT Changes)

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 22 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore version!

Hi everybody!

We have made some changes for PT operation and to fix a recent bug.

- PT: Fixed instant pack open bug where not all cards display
- PT: Remove ability to edit park factors after opening day of new season (can still change anytime after you have been eliminated or before opening day)
- PT: Min auction house duration is now 1h

This hotfix fixes those issues. Starting on Monday, Aug 30, this version will be REQUIRED to continue playing PT. Until then, you will get an error message if you try to auction cards for under 60 mins, after update this version will catch that.

There will be a similar patch update coming shortly on mobile to address these issues as well, it is currently pending review.

Steam users: If you played the public beta, we suggest that you opt out of the public beta group again in order to avoid automatic installation of the next public beta.

No, this update only includes PT-related items, so if you do not play that, there is no need to update.

More importantly for this non PT user; is it a bad thing if I already have this update installed?

It won't impact things if you don't run PT.

If its only a PT fix why in the world did it overwrite our ballpark files on Steam?
Previous Steam patches only install files that have made changes. Please tell me it wasn't because of the new camera angles added. Ok, went back and looked at my game and the "real ads" mod for the ballparks is still there. Only the cameras changed so guess that answers that.

Trouble is these new angles look to have been done in one park and then copied to all others. Poor angles that don't fit the stadiums very well. There was nothing wrong with the default cameras that shipped on release. Please from now on leave these alone as we all have the ability to make any view we want. Shipping out poor quality cameras that overwrite our hard work is a poor decision. Then doing it in a hotfix? Seems to be doing something just to be doing something and at the same time "fixing" something that isn't broke.

Yes, I do have a backup of my ballparks that I can copy back in. But with this being a nonissue on Steam, until now, I haven't updated this backup with some tweaks I've been making. It's not major in the big picture but still an unnecessary hoop to be jumping through this late in the patch release cycle.

I should have said this is the PC version for clarity.

More patch problems..

What does the ballpark folder have to do with the player models?

So I copied my backup ballparks with my camera views and real ads back into my game. Now I have the "gumby-bent players" issue. Go to the default
ballpark folder and the player models are back to normal. Why?

I did verify the files through Steam. At first it had to redownload files so I thought the players would now be fine with my ballparks. But no. Still with default stadiums they are fine. With my ballpark folder they are "bent".

So I took my ootp.3d backup file (camera views) and put one into the default parks. Player models were fine. Put real ads in that one stadium. Player models were fine.

Now I have to assume this hotfix also did some work on player models? If so why would that cause issues with ballpark files who's only change was cameras?

Here's another kicker. When the game first patched my "real ads" ballparks worked fine with normal player models. The only effect of the patch was to overwrite my cameras. But copy in my backup ballpark folder with cameras and more bent players.

Ok the only fix I've found...

went to recycle bin and restored my pre-patch ballpark (real ads and my cameras) to steam>ootp default location. These are my ballparks where the cameras were overwritten. I then copied a backup "camera ootp.3d" file into one of the parks. Thank goodness I backed up all of my ootp.3d files as stand alone files The cameras work fine, real ads are still there, and the player models are back to normal. Again why are the player models being affected at all dependent on which ballpark folder is being used.

At least I seem to have a fix (I have only tested one ballpark) but...
It seems keeping a backup of one's ballparks is no longer a reliable way to be able to recover when a patch overwrites mods. I had the complete ballpark folder with my mods in a safe place. It should be as simple as putting it back into the proper game folder. Yes, it did work but at the expense of breaking the player models, why?

If I had a backup that was done just prior to the patch would it have worked without breaking the players? I have no idea. I do think from now on at the first mention of a beta patch I will be making a new backup of my ballpark folder and hope it works

FWIW Drivers are up to date. PC, 32 gig ram, 1660 super card, tons of HD space on ssd. Windows up to date too.

edit to add... this had no effect on historical stadiums. Player models were fine. So it only effected modern parks where cameras were replaced in the patch.

Am I the only one who can't download the Mac version? Keeps stopping the download and then won't restart.

It shouldn't be an issue with the file or download itself. I would think it's most likely a connection glitch in this case.

If you try using a download manager, does that help?

Yes, the build may have accidentally pulled in some camera updates. We've seen people ask for more default camera angles like dugout cams, but didn't intend to include them in this hotfix. Apologies for any errors

Updates

I'm sure this has been covered in the past, but it'd be great if there were auto updates. Purchased the Steam version last year, which was easy. Bought directly this year hoping to support the developer more, but man I find it a pain going into the forums each time, finding the latest version, downloading, etc just to keep Perfect Team working correctly. Suppose I'm fairly lazy.

Well Matt if you are looking for more views you may want to check the ones I made for my game. Fine tuned for all of the new 3d stadiums in v22. Feel free to use any that you like. This file also contains all of the default cameras so none of the original files get overwritten.

I will vouch for Sweed's camera views. I've been using them for a while now and they're great. It would be cool to seem them included.

Good to hear. Between these cameras, the new stadiums, and the dynamic camera feature it's almost like being at a game.

The downside is I tend to spend too much time looking at replays from several different cameras. Really slows down my play

PT updates vs. basic game updates

Is PT update whilst cosmetic issues, mainly ball parks, with the basic game are not after numerous reports because you have continuing income from PT but not the basic game?
