Very longtime league, looking for a few owners
- League name: The Antiquity League
- League URL: The Antiquity League - Home - League type: Historical (currently Off-season 2008-2009) - Number of teams: 28 - OOTP version: OOTP22 - Ratings: 1-20 - Sim Speed: M-TH, 7-8 says per sim, approx. One Sim Month per Real Week. - Special Rules: Uses financial, coaching, modified medical, three minor league levels, MLEs for all players that ever played in the majors (and many that didn't) and most above average Japanese players, talent change randomness very, very minimal, NO scouting My league, the Antiquity League, is a twenty-eight team league that has been together since 1927 (Nineteen years and counting!). We have an extremely solid core of owners drawn from a variety of professions and acquaintances. Until our recent expansion, we had to replace only one owner in the previous sixteen seasons and that was due to his death. We are NOT a fly-by-night group of 19-year olds, but instead we are mostly older professionals. We have owners in their late-20s, many owners in their 30s and 40s and several that are now in their 50s and 60s. Our league forum is on Facebook, Slack and I also send out hand-made group emails after each sim. The Antiquity League draws from the 30 major league teams, in addition to using many players that were career minor leaguers (using MLEs for minor leaguers), plus we add about 5-10 Japanese League players per season. From 1927 to 1957 we were a a DMB league, but we switched to OOTP for the 1958 season. We sim approximately thirty sim days per real-time week and complete approximately four seasons in a calendar year. The league uses four levels of minor leagues, coaches and financials, but not scouting (and only a modified doctors system). The league webpage can be found at The Antiquity League - Home. All of our available teams have had caretakers, so you won’t be taking over a team that is in shambles. We are just ending the 2011 season so you would have plenty of opportunity to improve your squad. The available franchises are: Toronto Hogtowners * Until last season ere were guided by one of the better OOTP owners, I've ever seen. Without him they were 84-78 but they are aging. They play in a competitive division with several good owners but they are in a position to win it with some additions and some luck. No DH league. * Best players are SP Felix Hernandez (25), RP Christian Garcia (26), 3B Masahiko Morino (33), OF Brandon Moss (28), Jose Bautista (31), 2B Marcus Giles (33), SP Gavin Floyd (28), OF Magglio Ordonez (37), P Edward Mujica (27), P Brian Matusz (24), OF Jordan Schafer (25). * Minor league system: 28th (SS Javier Baez, SS Adeiny Hechavarria), C Hector Sanchez, OF Andrew Lambo, RP Elvis Araujo, SP Robbie Ross, ). Drafting ~17th in June 2012. Houston Christians * Three consecutive competitive seasons (87 wins average) after struggling for ten years since joining as an expansion team in 1998. They are primed for a good run. No DH league. * Best players are mostly in their prime and they are pretty loaded, including RP Jonathan Broxton (26), CF Adam Jones (26), CL Mike Gonzalez (33), SP Clayton Kershaw (23), 3B Josh Donaldson (25), SS Kiji Obiki (27), SP Yovanni Gallardo (25), 2B Stephen Drew (28), RP David Robertson (26), SP Gio Gonzalez (26), OF Felix Pie (26), SS Cliff Pennington (27), IF Andy LaRoche (28), OF Charlie Blackmon (25), SP Ricky Nolasco (28), C Nick Hundley (28), OF Jon Jay (26), and 3B Ryan Zimmerman (27). * Minor league system: 15th (SP Dallas Keuchel, SP Yuki Nishi, 3B Travis Shaw, P David Phelps, OF Aaron Alther, C Devon Mesoraco, 2B Jason Kipnis). Drafting ~18th in June 2012. Oakland Oaks * They're now ending their rebuild and stocked with good young players and an excellent farm system. Solid division. No DH league. * Best players are mostly in their prime and they are loaded, including 1B Adrian Gonzalez (28), CF Denard Span (26), IF Neil Walker (26),1B Adrian Gonzalez (29), OF Denard Span (27), OF Ryan Braun (27), OF Justin Upton (24), SP Tony Armas (33), SS Khalil Green (32), SP Brad Penny (33), RP Juan Rincon, (32), C Salvador Perez (21), P Yoervis Medina (23) * Minor league system: 3rd (2B J.Altuve, CF Yoshihiro Maru, P M.Shoemaker, P Rhiner Cruz, OF Jake Marisnick, 1B Dan Black, C. W.Rosario, SP Sonny Gray, 2B Johnny Giavotella, P Joe Kelly). Drafting ~5th in June 2012. Montreal Expos * The Expos seem to win 75-80 games every year but don’t really contend. However, they now have solid base to build from and there are opportunities to with the division. No DH league. * Best players are CL Kenley Jansen (24), 3B Pablo Sandoval (25), P Wade Davis (26), P Joel Hanrahan (30), CF Michael Saunders (24), SS Tsuyoshi Nishioka (27), P Jason Hammel (29), SS Jung Ho Kang (24), SP Mat Latos (23), 1B Chris Davis (25), OF Ryan Sweeney (26), 2B Luis Valbuena (25), 3B Donovan Solano (23), C J.R. Towles (27), C Hank Conger (23), SP Joe Blanton (30) * Minor league system: 21st (CL Aroldis Chapman, OF Jabari Blash, SP Drew Pomeranz, SP Brad Peacock, C Steve Clevenger, OF Khris Davis, 1B Mark Canha, OF Taff Decker, OF Eric Thames). Drafting ~12th in June 2012. Rebuilding Chicago Orphans * Rebuilding team. They’ve lost 90 or more game fo four consecutive years. Tough division. DH League. * Best players of a weak group are SS Jose Reyes (28), OF Ryan Kalish (23), P Pat Neshek (31), P Boof Bonser (30), P Cesar Jimenez (26), C Wilson Ramos (24), 3B Scott Moore (27), 2B Adrian Cardenas (24). * Minor league system: 16th (3B Manny Machado, SP Kyle Hendricks, OF A.J. Pollock , SP Felix Pena, OF Corey Dickerson, 2B Dustin Ackley, CF Hunter Jones, P Chris Devens, CL Blake Treinen). Drafting ~3rd in June 2012. I take an inordinate amount of care on the Antiquity League and I think that you will be very pleased to be a member of the league.
