Order of homers listed in box scores?
For the life of me I cannot figure out how OOTP decides the order to list homers in the box score under each team. It's not in order of when they were hit, which makes the most sense; it's not in alphabetical order of the player's name (either first or last); it's not in order of how many homers they've hit on the season; it's not in order of how many runners were aboard, nor is it in reverse order of any of these things.
Devs, any thoughts? Is it just random? |

I looked at several box scores and am quite sure it's by inning except when the same batter hits more than one.
That matches what I thought before looking. EDIT No I'm wrong and the order seems random see below. I'd like to know the answer.

EDIT: And having now opened the game and looked at a handful of box scores, every time there seems to be a pattern (chronological, place in order, etc.) I then find an example that doesn't fit the pattern. So, yeah, got me. Random is the best I've got so far.

It would be nice if homers were listed in the order they were hit... this would be helpful when I write my game recaps... not a big deal though.... but it would be nice.
I can see that this would not be feasible in the case of a player hitting more than one home run in the game. |

For hitters, it is not just home runs, also doubles, stolen bases, etc.

Yeah, it seems like it's more or less random. We can fix that up to some more logical order - I think I can get 2B/3B/HR in roughly the order they're hit, at least sorted by inning/out, and probably best I can do on the rest is by lineup spot.

It looks to me like it's the batting order. Dominguez bats first. Lawrence fourth. Renteria fifth. Davis PH in the 9th hole in RchW's box score.

Could it be by player id?
EDIT: Nope. Checked in my league. Not that either. Last edited by cbbl; 08-25-2021 at 12:06 PM. |
