Problem I'm Having Getting to Trade Deadline

OK, this is the first major problem I've had with OOTP 5.13. I'm in the 2005 seaons starting in 2003 and I have the Minnesota Twins. With that, I'm just about to the trade deadline and I have it set for it to notify for emails and everything. So once I get to July 30 it stops the sim and asks me if I want to view the trades, and since I have many guys that I want to trade, I say yes. Which is where the problem occurs. It freezes and I have to force quit OOTP, but nothing seems to be the problem because when I re enter, I go to my trade page and there the trades are. Whew, didn't lose my 2.5 year season of playing everyday. I look through the trades and see one or none that I like. OK, time to sim through July and get to August. But I look at the schedule and it is still only July 29. So I sim up to July 30 again and it says new trades, so I click yes and it freezes again, I go through what I did before and I now have NEW trades. I do it again, it is like in a never endless loop. What I haven't done is say No yet, or try and sim past that date. Is there something wrong? or will I just have to sim past the date.

Did i confuse anyone?

I'm 99% sure the game isn't freezing up. Pay NO attention to the "Windows not responding" message. How long are you waiting? What other programs are open or running in the background? How much RAM do you have? What OS are you running?

When it gets to this point, go get a snack, take a walk, etc.....then come back and chances are it will be done as it is processing many, many trade offers, player evals, etc

At first I was running AIM and MSN, but then I closed both, restarted my computer and then tried again.

The first few times I waited about 5 minutes, then after starting and closing, I waited 5 minutes the first time, then just Force Quit it.

As I said I just don't think the game is freezing up, more than a few folks have reported the same senario only to have the game finish processing everything if given time.

I'll try it again and leave it go for awhile. I bet you are right, when are you not?? But I'll try a few things to see if I can get it. Thanks for the help, I'll let you know if anything happens.

Well it is possible that it is freezing up but going on all of the info you have given me I just think it needs a bit more time than you have given it to finish things up.

There are definitely a few times during the season that the game takes much longer to process information. This is one of them. As Steve said, it takes so much longer that most people think that the game has stopped responding when, in fact, it's just still processing all of the info.

I do like the fact that after restarting I get different trade offers everytime and can get my guys gone before the trade even though it probably isn't supposed to work that way
