OK... I have to ask.... ??

Sorry, but this is a facet of the game I'm totally new to. I've just managed a 3rd/4th in the PTCS Summer tourney thing and won myself Orel Hershiser (lost the darn semi 4-3 in an extra innings game ). I mulled over whether to sell or keep, deciding on 'keep' if only to include something outside the usuals in my own rotation. But, of course, I had to check the Auction House out of curiosity, if nothing else. Prices for the tourney cards down to mine (one seller each) as I type are;

1st Frank Robinson 5,000,000 - 9,000,000

2nd Arlie Latham 1,000,000 - 3,000,000

3rd/4th Orel Hershiser 3,499,000 - 3,500,000

One seller each and, amazingly enough, no bids.

My first, second and third thoughts were that these amounts are totally absurd. TBF, Robinson is a PL quality player. Hershiser I would expect to be quite playable in diamond while Latham would struggle to get on my roster now. My question is, therefore, are there really people out there who would pay these ridiculous sums or anything resembling them? Does anyone actually HAVE 5M PP? I assume it's people just trying it on before selling them for something sensible, but if Orel could raise even a tenth of that I'd sell him in a heartbeat.

Thoughts?

The QF prize (Clarkson) has already sold for 500k. I'm going to try like hell to get 575k because I feel like more than a few of the people will just use him (this most likely means I will not get 575k at any point).

If I had not been RNG'ed to death in the QF (yeah, still very salty), I may have tried to get a mil for Hershiser. Either way, it's potentially team changing money and given the permanent rarity of these cards, insane prices will be expected.

Might as well try to cash in if you're not gonna use Hershiser. Out of all the SE's, he was actually the one that appealed to me the most, so if I hadn't been RNG'ed to death, I would have most likely kept mine. As it stands, Clarkson will not move the needle for me to be anything other than a continued gold/diamond yo-yo which is something I'm not interested in at the slightest.

Only Frank Robinson is guaranteed to be limited to 3. Kris was ambivalent on whether the other cards would be made available as prizes in other tournaments, or maybe just the Winter PTCS Finals. I managed to win Latham of which there are only 3 currently. I'm not especially eager to sell it.
