I have to vent....

I'm in 2063 in my current save. I have had a stud SP who came into the league and won 4 consecutive Cy Young awards and rookie of the year. He ended 2062 as a 5 star SP. During the course of his 5th season, where he is 30 years old, the following occurred.....

Stuff dropped from 70 to 35
Velocity dropped from 99-101 to 95-97
Went from 5 star to 2 star

All in 1 season!!!! And no injuries.

Can a guy good enough to go 77-14 with a WHIP under 1 just lose it???? I'm just glad I didn't sign him to a long term deal this past offseason. Now I will have to non-tender since he's making $78 mil this season.

Just had to vent.

In real life there are times that players just fall off quick. It happens. Be glad you didn’t commit long term.

I'm interested in ticket prices when one player makes $78M per year.

MATT HARVEY anyone? Just do a little reserch and you'll find quit a long list of those guys. I've had hitters do the same including a season after signing a nice extension. That's why I love that part of OOTP

He's only in his 2nd arbitration year. The top player in MLB makes $150 mil, which is about $40 mil higher than 2nd place. My tickets are $180. I use 2-3% inflation. The minimum salary is now $2.3 mil.

I wonder what minimum wage will be in 2063? I'll be 87, working at Walmart.

Do you have more than one league enabled with inflation?

EDIT: Just curious if you do, and what the finances look like across the board.

They're only throwing 101 in 2063?

It's rare for a guy to be truly great for more than 4 years in their career. Mostly the guys in Cooperstown.

I agree. It was just the rapid decline in 1 year with no injury that hurt. I've lost 5 star guys to career ending injuries but never just losing their ability.

I’ve had plenty of players i’ve invested in that dropped from a 300 Batting Average to something like an 200 in a month. Unfortunately, your not the first, lol.
