Protecting a Live player that isn't locked

I finished the live missions long ago. Recently I came across a Live player that I want to use in tournaments. He is not locked from missions. Is there any way to force a player to be locked?

If so I can keep my normal routine of tagging all Live players and quick selling them from the roster management screen. But without a lock I'm going to have to either manually untag this one bronze player each time or create a special custom filter (Live but not this one guy) and make sure I always use it. Both of those seem like very awkward workarounds.

I do all my selling from within a tournament. That way you could select all live cards, de-select the active roster, and I think you would be good to quick-sell from that point.

It still adds an extra step but might be the simplest way to do it. Good thought.

Being able to temporarily lock players would be much better than having to constantly be on the lookout. I was disappointed that that wasn't one of the QoL improvements in 22.

All new cards go on the reserve roster if there is room. So, if you keep it clean and do not open too many packs at once, all your new players are on the reserve roster and can be safely sold from there. Your tournament player being on the inactive roster is safe.

You are way more organized about things than I am.

This is something that has needed fixing/adding since the start. The manage cards screen would benefit so much from features like that, or the ability to add customized sheets for user-defined and manual card subsets such as tourney team candidates, 'investment' cards held, and so on.
