How do you get your 3D view settings to save?

When playing a game with the Modern 3D View, I like to have the widgets set up a particular way. How do you get them to stay that way for all games?

Because right now, I set them the way I like them, complete the game, and move to the next game where--they are all back to the defaults.

Uncheck "Automatically set up Widgets" in the "View" menu.
