Ramon Martinez was in fine form today as he led the Blue Jays to an easy, 8-1 win over the Tigers.

Eddie Murray hit his 5th homer of the season.

The Jays seemed to have this in hand but the Tigers scored twice in the 9th to force extras and twice in the 11th to take the 5-3 win.

Cal Ripken blasted two home runs and Robinson Lopez pitched eight shutout innings as the Jays beat the White Sox, 6-0.

George Brett also homered for Toronto.

Back-to-back homers by George Brett and Arturo Vazquez in the 9th made it exciting but the Jays still fell, 9-8, to the White Sox.

Joe Carter also went deep for Toronto.

During the game, Paul Molitor crossed the plate for the 1000th time in his career.

In a freak accident, Robinson Lopez tore his miniscus... tying his shoes.

Brutal. He will be out for about six months.

Michael Hall is recalled from AAA.

The Jays are shuffling their staff, as Hall and Todd Stottlemyre rejoin the rotation and Dave Stieb goes to the pen.

Arturo Vazquez hit a game tying, pinch hit home run in the 9th only for Carlos Baerga to answer it with a walk-off homer in the bottom half. The Tigers beat the Blue Jays, 3-2.

Todd Stottlemyre's return to the rotation was a success... until Lee Smith blew a three-run lead in the 9th.

The Tigers beat the Jays, 6-5.

Arturo Vazquez, Jesus Garza, and Darren Daulton homered for Toronto.

George Brett left the game with a stiff back, but nobody expects he will miss any time.

A gutsy game turned into a heartbreaker as the Jays lost 2-1 to the Tigers in 11 innings after Gary Sheffield hit a walk off homer.

The game ended with both David Roberts and Eddie Murray playing in the outfield.

Cal Ripken was named AL Player of the Week! This week he hit .290 with 5 dingers and 22 RBI.

Ed Forsyth won the award in Saint Hyacinthe for his AA league.

Dwight Smith of the Padres won for the NL.The Jays fell to #21 on the Weekly Power Rankings.

The Jays were roughed up and Michael Hall left the game with shoulder pain. The Jays lost 11-5 to the Angels.

Hall's next start will likely need to be moved back.
