Empty draft

I started a season in 1996 and played it through the end of the season to when the amateur draft was scheduled. The "email" to the manager previewing the draft said, "BNN prognosticators list their top prospects in the draft as:" and then the email was blank after that. When it came time for the draft itself, the prospect pool was blank. I had no choice so I simmed the draft, and at the end of it, there was no recap of my team’s picks, picks to be signed, or anything like that. Is that because I hadn't purchased the 1997 season, or is it a glitch? I seem to remember past versions of the game at least drafting future seasons with made-up players instead of being blank, but it's obviously been a while since the MLB Manager days and I could've misremembered.

Empty or nearly empty draft pools have eventually happened in every one of the dozen or so historical games I've started. I'm playing with the 2021 version and don't ever plan to buy the game again. Not a frivolous decision since I've bought the game over and over again since it began.

You probably have this activated in amateur draft

This has been reported multiple times in the Bug Reports Forum and acknowledged by the staff. It's supposed to be fixed in a future update. Basically, you aren't going to get any new players in historical leagues until they fix it.

That draft bug is actually about trying to start historical save with a fantasy draft

Ok, well I've experienced the exact bug being described here and reported it on the bug forum. Was told that it had been replicated and they hope to have it fixed soon.
