Lightbulb New OOTP 22 public beta patch (version 22.7.61) available! (New patch updated to version 61)

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 22 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore version!

Hi everybody!

We are close to launching the next official update early next week, so here is a new public beta, version 22.7.61.

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is somewhat compatible with the previous patch for online leagues - exports will work between versions, but once the commish has updated versions and uploaded a new league file, clients will need to be on this version as well to continue.

Changelist (22.7.61):
- Fixed crash when starting a new fictional game with MLB style league setup
- Some 3d movement fixes

Changelist (22.7.60):
- Updated default roster sets and player ratings (need to start a new game for changes to apply)
- Updated 3D stadiums with audience animation
- Online Leagues: Fixed issues with import/export of withdrawn offers
- Fixed issues with ghost players in universe and resuming games in progress
- Fixed issue where players who retire in historical games could return
- Added editor option to reset individual player’s fatigue
- Team Strategy Exports now default to a global folder. Added option to name strategies before export
- Added ability to filter batting+pitching game logs on player page
- Fictional MLB setup updated for new MiLB structure
- Fixed various ball bounce/movement issues
- PT: Shift+Enter can submit in PT auction window
- PT: Fixed some issues with managing cards directly from open packs window
- PT: Added multi-select quicksell on roster pages
- PT: Game will remember collection mode show+sort settings
- Several other bug fixes and tweaks

How to access the beta on Steam:
  • Quit OOTP 22 if it's running.
  • Open Steam client -> Library
  • Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 22
  • Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
  • Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: publicbeta22
  • Click on "Check code"
  • Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
  • Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
  • Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.
Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Download link for PC Beta (Fastspring Webstore Version):
Main server: PC Installer

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:
PC Single Folder Installer

Download link for Mac (FastSpring):
Main Server: Mac OSX Installer

Please post here if you have any issues or if you run into major bugs. Thanks!

Cheers,
Markus & the entire OOTP Team

My crowds aren't animated but they look blurry. Installation issue?

Yeah, looks like maybe so. I'd try the option to 'force reinstall data files' on the troubleshooting screen or 'verify local files' if you're on Steam.

Actually, I take that back. At first glance from the default view it looked okay, especially the section along the LF line. However, there are still sections in the park that aren't right. Especially behind home plate.

I asked Jorin, who does the 3d for the game, about this. We'll see what he says. I'm leaning toward thinking it's still an issue with the install, but not sure.

Do you use a custom data path by any chance?

Just to stick my nose in, I have nice animation with the crowds. Really makes those new modern parks look "lively" now. Thank you.

Hello!

How about the small issues with overpowered mexican international free agents? And possibly some other nationalities. Is this fixed in this update?

Maybe it works as intended, maybe not, https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=329784 is that something the devs can comment on? If not i understand.

Many thanks in advance!

When I go to create a new fictional league using the MLB setup it stars to load the names database and then crashes. I've tried it 3 times now and same thing each time.

The change to the LMB PCMs did not make it into this patch, sorry. It should be in the next patch if all goes well.

In the meantime, you can simply manually reduce the PCM's for LMB or any other league you feel is a bit overpowered. I would say something like setting the basic pcm's to .925 (or even .900) and leaving the sabermetric ones alone should help things quite a bit.

Thanks for reporting this!

I was able to recreate this, so it does look like there's an issue here. We'll take a look at it and get it fixed up before releasing the patch.

Yes. I use a custom data path. Could that be it?

Yes, the animated crowds are nice but mine are blurry even when set the highest level. It would also be nice if someone would fix the bad night/evening background for Comerica! It can't be that difficult for whoever has the original Alphablend_night.webp file!

The minor league box scores still do not work properly. Whenever the MLB team is off for a day, the box scores for all minor league teams are not available. Instead, a random box score is inserted in its place.

This one has been around for a long while - I never actually thought it was a bug, but something I was doing wrong. On the MLB days my team had off, I'd just advance to the next day, and I assumed that not playing out or quick simming a game for that day was what prevented the minor league game box scores from generating. Instead, you were looking at the box score from a game with that same game ID from a previous season.

I assumed there was a setting I was missing somewhere to get minor league box scores to generate when advancing - but I didn't look into it much because the minor league box scores didn't matter that much to me.

Next time your MLB team has an off day, try quick simming the games for the day instead of just advancing to the next day - see if that properly generates your box scores. I'd be curious.

If the minor league box scores still don't get generated, maybe it is a bug...

Any update or advice on the blurry crowds? I've tried forcing the re-installation of the game data as well as all the various combinations of crowd detail and animation. It's distractingly bad, especially behind home plate. Can someone post a picture of what it should look like?
