Screen goes black on brawls

Twice this week I've played games where a batter was hit by a pitch after a homer and a brawl ensued, and both times the 3D ballpark portion of the screen went black while it was chronicled in the play-by-play, before coming back with the next batter.

Anyone else run into this? A result of one of the recent patches?

That happens to me and I just assumed it was intended. I thought it was to avoid having to show a brawl, both for ratings reasons and because that'd probably be hard to animate. Are you saying sometimes this doesn't happen?

I'm sure I'd seen it in OOTP21

This will be down to the MLBPA, I would have thought. Or, at least that was my assumption.

I get similar a lot of times when I get the choice to try for an extra base. The option to send runner or hold comes up and if I select to send the runner everything goes blank for a moment and then the game resumes with the next batter (and I look at the score or outs to see whether I was successful or not). Same thing happens with brawls so I always thought it was a related issue.

I always thought it was related to the crashing problem when you had the choice to advance a base.

I purposely hit a batter with a pitch following a home run for the first time on OOTP22 last night, and got a blank screen.
When it came back, there was a runner on first both the pitcher and batter had been ejected.
Both were also later suspended.
I very rarely hit batters on purpose because I know what the result is going to be. (And it doesn't seem to have any positive effect either).
So, I can't recall the last time it happened.
But it did occur last night.
