You shouldn't no. An uninstall/reinstall won't touch saved games or custom data by default, unless you specifically tell it to do so in the options when you run the uninstaller.

To fix my issues I had to rename old folder of OOTP, in my steam location to OOTP corrupt. Then all my game data was protected. Installed the game fresh, used restore from backup, got all my games back. Had to reinstall my stadium files back into the folder but once everying was back in place my saved games recalled the stadiums correctly.

It was an absolute pain to have to reinstall but steam would not fix the files. You must make sure you do not try and reinstall without renaming the old OOTP folder because even a reinstall back into the same ootp folder didnt fix this issue. So make sure it is a 100% fresh install.

This was the only way I was able to repair this file.

Depending on what custom setup you have, we would recommend at least copying over data/ballparks/models/misc/player, but possibly you can include folders further up if you want any other changes that may have come.
HOME RUN!

That worked perfectly and was EXACTLY the kind of troubleshooting I was looking for. OOTP customer service and community continue to be at the core of why this game is so great and has such loyal follows.

I have been an IT Pro for over 30 years which means:
1. I understand why the first steps are always reboot, reinstall, verify, etc
2. I did that stuff 5 times before I ever posted (and I searched out existing thread if we want to talk best practices)
3. I have 20+ years of work\tinkering in that custom data path so I am always hesitant to carpet bomb if I can find the right scalpel
4. I really appreciate the detailed suggestions – took 1 minute and solved the problem straight away as soon as I knew where to look

Anyone wanting to try this is the exact folder he is talking about, although yours is probably on the C drive and not the D drive. ALSO THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME ON THE CUSTOM FOLDER ISSUE. NOT SURE IF IT WILL SOLVE DEFUALT LOCATIONS, BUT IT CERTAINLY SEEMS TO BE THE FILES\FOLDER THAT WAS CAUSING THE ISSUE

D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Out of the Park Baseball 22\data\ballparks\models\misc\player

Copy this entire folder to your CUSTOM_FOLDER\ Out of the Park Baseball 22\data\ballparks\models\misc\

I just started having the exact same player models issue yesterday; up until then OOTP 22 had been working fine ever since the release. Verifying on Steam didn't help. I also uninstalled and reinstalled via Steam, to no effect. I did not try the twins_34 process of changing Steam folders, etc.

I have a custom save location on my data drive because the default puts it on my OneDrive and it catastrophically gums up the cloud sync process because of all the tiny files. And sure enough, the way to fix the issue was to copy the player models from the steam installation folder over to the data folder, as Giants44 describes.
