Very nice work, btw!!

Louisville Elite Giants - 1930s

A slightly different look for the 'Leggers in the '30s. Gone are the pinstripes from the home jersey and the trim around the placket. Instead, the '30s look is based on the '39 Philadelphia Stars. The primary logo matches the sleeve patch and is inspired by the later real-life Elite Giants' patch.

Memphis Bears - 1930s

The '30s Bears are basically the '40s Bears with some additional soutache on the caps and trim on the jerseys. The primary was inspired by the Philadelphia Athletics' logo from the '30s.

Chattanooga Nickajacks - 1930s

Before adding the yellow in the '40s, the Nickajacks were a classic blue-and-white team featuring a very traditional piping with pinstripes look based on the Pittsburgh Crawfords' home jersey from '35. The script is the same as the '40s, but without the yellow outline.

St. Louis Canaries - 1930s

Drawing inspiration from this 1930s Orioles cap, the St. Louis Canaries of the '30s feature a felted bird on their soutache cap with red chain-stitching highlights (I didn't do the legs because I think they look silly). The home jerseys feature the familiar yellow lettering--big and bold in this instance--but the away jerseys were a brief departure from yellow into a primarily red color scheme with yellow highlights.

Richmond Black Rifles - 1930s

The Black Rifles in the '30s are a combination Seattle Rainers and Birmingham Black Barons. Heavy drop shadow and piping throughout with white soutache on the cap.

Birmingham Black Magic - 1930s

The Black Magic '30s primary is based on the awful Pittsburgh Pirates logo from the 1930s-1950s. The jersey features the words "Black Magic" in the tail of the script, but otherwise looks fairly similar to the later '40s look.

Chicago Emperors - 1930s

The other red and yellow team, the Emperors, feature a regal chest patch on their homes and a wild all red look on their aways. Caps have a slicker C on the cap than the chunky 40s cap.

Kansas City Stars - 1930s

Second to last set for the Southern League in the '30s.

The Stars of the 30s featured a different color scheme than the blue and white of the 40s, with a red and white look here. Full piping and pinstripes is a classic look and a simple cap adorning a white star completes the ensemble. The city name appears on both the home and aways, but the star on the cap and the sleeve identifies the team name to any onlookers.

Jacksonville Villains - 1930s

Last '30s team in the Southern League. The '30s Villains feature subtle brown pinstriping and trim to go with the primary cardinal color. The aways were inspired by the '38 Jacksonville Red Caps home jerseys.

I appreciate everyone's attention so far and hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll dive more fully into the Northern '30s next week.

Philadelphia Keystones - 1930s

The 'Stones in the '30s feature a unique script on their homes and a darker blue-and-white scheme than their '40s counterpart. The aways make use of the classic Tuscan font and the hat features a script P. The home script is based on a home alternate the Cubs used in the '30s.

Cincinnati Snappers - 1930s

The Snappers, similar to the '30s Keystones, are based on a look of the Cubs in the '30s. I really dig the Cubs' uniform/logo history, and so I like to borrow from them heavily. The bear in the wishbone C has been replaced with a turtle. This is the first time the Snappers wore green-and-white.

Newark Jays - 1930s

Under new management as a result of the Great Depression, the Newark squad adopted a new moniker and a new look -- the Jays were born. This look is liberally inspired by the Topeka Owls of the '40s. The chain stitch Blue Jay is probably too elaborate for the '30s, but we will ignore that in order to get a unique take on the bird-on-bat into the set.

Primary logo is the same as the sleeve patch.

Washington Hoppers - 1930s

The Hoppers in the '30s featured a flashier red, white and black color scheme than their later burgundy and cream. The caps didn't feature an identifying mark, so the away jerseys spell out the nickname rather than the more traditional city name.

Motor City Braves - 1930s

The '30s Braves are based on the '30 Boston Braves. I recognize that the giant patch on the back isn't really going to show up in the game for most practical purposes (or at all? I am not sure if it would show up in 3D mode), but I wanted to include it because including the patch IRL was an objectively cool thing for Boston to do.

No need to have your team name on the front of your jersey when you're wearing it on your back. So, both home and away jerseys feature "Motor City."

Brooklyn Cuban Stars - 1930s

Next up is the Cuban Stars of Brooklyn. Featuring a half crescent moon C and star primary, the Cuban Stars have a fairly traditional full piping/pinstripe look in the '30s.

Buffalo Electrics - 1930s

Based on the '37 Boston Bees, the Buffalo Electrics feature a blue-and-yellow scheme with the yellow providing a sort of electric glow on the caps and away jerseys.

Columbus Red Sox - 1930s

Inspired by the 1931 Boston Red Sox, the Red Sox sported a fairly traditional pinstripe look in their first decade in Columbus. The big, bold letters on the home jersey is a preview of the brash set to follow in the '40s.

New York Black Kings - 1930s

The Black Kings's logo is something between the Yankees' and the NY Giants'. Hard to do a NY monogram that's unique, but I think this one turned out OK.

Pittsburgh Rollers - 1930s

Last team for the 1930s. First post has been updated to include a link to the '30s files.

Not too much to say about this one. The Rollers are based on the '33 NY Giants, but with block font to match the cap rather than Tuscan font.
