Just downloaded the game and purchased the 2021 season. Wondering if there is a manual for OOTP go?

I didn't realize how much I missed it

I used to play MLB Manager very, very often years ago. That diminished and stopped after it became evident that the bugs that were present in the product weren't going to be fixed until the new product that is now OOTP Go! was released. The bugs such as having games starting up with an initial score from the previous game, resulting in a phantom game in the standings, were painful and frustrating (especially after I missed the playoffs by 0.5 games due to that bug!). I had given up on ever seeing the game resurface.

Then yesterday happened.

OOTP Go! is a glorious piece of software. It's definitely a Beta version, as I've encountered two crashes in less than two hours of playing. But it's wonderful. I didn't realize how much I missed it. I'll beta-test the hell out of it. I've already got a list of 20 items that I have submitted or am holding back on waiting for more experience with the game. Hopefully, my feedback will be useful.

Markus and team, kudos!

Not everyone has OOTP 22, though.

Big time. Playing one live game and exploring a bit brought me down to 20% in no time at all.

There are many subtle differences. I think an online tutorial like what is offered in PT22 in needed for OOTPGO.

I tried to do a Perfect draft selection on the app. Could not right click on players to view ratings before drafting.

You need to tap on the player's name beneath the card image.

Two things I noticed in historical:

A) all teams seem to use the same park

B) if you only have the default 3 seasons and start in 1921 the 1977 expansion will not happen.

I think in B), although the image shown on screen is the same, each ballpark is very different in terms of the metrics around size, dimensions etc (if you look on the individual teams edit page)

Schedules

I’m not a beta tester but is there a way to customize the season schedule length? I love playing every game but 162 is too long to get through multiple seasons this way. Is there an option for less games like you can choose in the desktop version? This is the only thing I would have changed in the MLB Manager games.

@snarls200

The game only includes the 30 current MLB parks. Just like the PC version. So, historical teams use the generic park but with real historical park factors.

I’m really enjoying it so far. Especially perfect team.

I haven’t played the desktop version since 2019. I think some Go specific tutorials would be nice as the screens can seem a bit overwhelming to a new player.

I assume since it is basically the same watching some guides or tutorials on based on the desktop version will assist to some degree?

I'm seeing a lot of fielders catching balls facing the wrong way in the 3D animation. Shortstops catching throws from the outfield over the shoulder. Lots of attempts at warning track Willie Mays catches. Sometimes the dude turns before the ball hits his glove, which I have to assume is worn backwards. Not a big deal, but a bit weird...

Are you going to include rest of international leagues for download? Only saw asian leagues.

I don't believe we have any plans to include more leagues at the moment, but that could always change in the future.

Thanks. Here is my initial impression. I've played OOTP for years so much so that I can probably navigate to any screen without even thinking but the Go version even intimidated me. It's very robust which is great but I really think for the newbie it's going to be overwhelming especially on a small screen. I was using my pixel 4xl which has a 6.3 inch screen and it still felt very small to me. For a newbie it's not very intuitive at all on what you have to do and how it works. The game plops you down during the offseason so while I knew what to do it wasn't intuitive for me what buttons to press to get me there.

I think this game would look much better on a tablet for newer players.

I think this is a good point. It is a bit overwhelming. I’ve not really played the desktop version before so it is taking time to learn the menus etc.
