OOTP 20 gone but not forgotten

OOTP 20 was the reason OOTP 21 and 22 could be made. It was the money maker.

I miss OOTP 20. Ending that game took some of my spirit.

So OOTP 22 is on now, and its okay, but really no improvements to perfect league. It be honest, the players name really doesn't mean anything any more. Seems like the game is just randomizing stats. The cards, with a player in the same year is different in OOTP 20, to OOTP 21 to OOTP 22.

The players stats didn't change so it has to be something random.

No way OOTP 20 will ever come back (nor will all the money I spend on my Belfast Dodger team) but I miss it.

This is why I'm FTP. No way I'm spending money to collect stuff that's gonna go POOF in a couple years.

Since PT22 came out I miss the old PT21 as well. Yeah, I can play it, but it is just not the same.

In 20, spending a reasonable amount of $$ and/or time could get you a top team and multiple PL championships. Now, unless you are willing to spend ridiculous amounts of $$ and/or ridiculous amounts of time, I see very little chance of actually winning the game. For me, the change to a single Perfect League in 21, and continued in 22, was a huge negative.

I honestly may have been tempted to buy perfect points if I thought it could significantly impact my team, but the amount of money I would have to spend to do that seems ridiculous. 100$ gets you 1 perfect player and it may not even be a top tier perfect player depending on AH prices. Jackie robinson alone would cost around 500$.

So far I have been enjoying PT22 as much as the previous iterations. I’m generally FTP with the only exception being that I spent $10 to buy 10K of points on Day 1 to fund a quick build of my initial Bronze tournament team. I haven’t spent a dime since. This paid off as I raked in packs from the first couple of weeks of tournaments. That gave me what I needed to complete every live mission before the end of the first week and have a team that would quickly rise through the lower level leagues.

At this point I have a solid middle of the road Diamond level team. I am continuing to focus on my tournament team and that is where most of my time is spent to keep a good flow of packs going. I only sell duplicate cards unless I pull one that won’t help my team and is getting an outrageously high price in the AH. I’ve made good progress on the BAL missions and am now targeting specific BAL players which I feel will have the biggest impact on my primary team.

The bottom line is that I don’t expect to ever be champion of the Perfect League. There is just one champion a week and there are enough whales out there to make that an unrealistic goal. My current goals for my primary team are to have a consistently solid Diamond level team and make the playoffs at least every other season. My stretch goal is to win a Diamond League championship which will earn me the right to get crushed in a Perfect season.
