Portland A's

Long before Dave Kaval started popping up everywhere threatening to uproot the A's, I put them in Portland for my WBAT/AABBA project. Using pieces from SFGiants58's Defunct Saga project, I made some gold-dominant unis people might like if they relocate the A's. I can't remember if I made the ballcaps or if I got them from one of the other threads here with SFGiants58 stuff, made by Golem64 or rjl518. Sorry I can't credit more specifically but I renamed the files when I downloaded them and can't find the exact thread now.

Any chance for a Nashville A's set? i have the Beavers in Portland. i believe someone made a Nashville A's set a few years ago but i would like an updated set.

Try these! I'm not crazy about the one with the dice on it, the Athletics have been quite faithful to their cap "A" over the centuries. I did think kelly green made more sense for Vegas, a little more garish. The main logo is from SFGiants58's Tampa Bay A's design, but the palms work for Vegas IMO.

In all likelihood it's proprietary, so no. I've been looking for a copycat for a while and haven't found one.

In my file, Oakland will move to Las Vegas at the end of this season. Going to cheat a little and use the yellow accent ones you made for Portland.

I thought it looked nice too, I pulled it from the site lotr linked, although it's very similar to one SFGiants58 did that I had a hard time recoloring.

Looking at the Portland one, I'll mess with it later today to make the swoosh look more like the home one. I actually like the script a lot, the initial P looks just like the old Beavers cap logo, and the Old English-type initial cap they use for home looks weird in other letters IMO, at least those I've seen.

I agree that the P is very reminicent of the Beavers. And honestly, I can't see them using anything other than an Old English A on their cap no matter where they call home. It's all they've ever used.

My main problem with the Portland script is the d at the end. The swash at the bottom doesn't link up, and the swash at the top looks completely out of place and cheesy. It needs to look like the d on the current Oakland road jerseys, IMO

Hope you don't mind me channelling my inner CCSLC commenter there. Those folks pull no punches when it comes to C+C!

I didn't mind that swoosh on the top, and on looking closely at the real road script, I don't like that weird extra loop they put on top of the d. When I took off the tail, a small loop was left sort of like the real script, and the swash at the bottom looks much better with the notch in it. I'll fix the road jersey with green script above, but I'll leave the gold ones alone since anyone using them isn't going to be super concerned with accuracy in the first place.

Here's the wordmark if anyone wants it someday...
