Confusing ratings
2017 Jackie Bradley Jr
OF Range- 57 OF error- 55 OF arm- 47 Position rating CF (his only rated position)- 26? Am I missing something? Also, does the composite position rating even matter in the game? Or is it just to give a rough idea of a player's ability? Swede |

Low experience (you can't see this except in the editor) and CF requires higher range/ error/ arm ratings for an acceptable position rating.

Get him some practice in spring training in CF and one of the corner OF positions. Probably LF due to arm but this could depend on your needs.
Note a player has to start a game for ST position experience to count. I'd probably set him as the second CF to start every 3rd game and the third LF to start every 5th game. Depending on your other training needs. |

Also, he's not CF material. That's also what the composite rating does: tries to guide you to where the player's skills will play up or down at which positions. That range is too low for him to get a good rating. Try him at a corner OF spot, he'll probably have higher than 26 at the equal experience level. To use an example: I gave a CF editor ratings of 200/160/160 and max experience, and he got a 214 rating. I dropped his range to 110 (probably around a 55 in your scale) and his CF rating plummeted to 60, while at LF he got 146 and RF he got 135. Keep in mind editor ratings are out of 250. So 60 out of 250 would be a rather poor 1-100 rating. Range is VERY important to a CF as you can see. Last edited by KBLover; 05-12-2021 at 02:43 AM. |

I'm confused by the answers so far, we're talking about a historical player not a fictional one so unless you're playing with the development engine on instead of recalc his ratings are based on actual stats and I don't think they will change by getting experience.
I think the answer is more about the fact that 2017 was a not a great year for JBJ and the league range factor spiked for some reason causing the difference between Jackie and the rest of the league to widen. Moving to 2018 should bring him back more in line with the CF ratings you might expect |
