May Be A Stupid Question: Can You Use 2D Stadiums with 3D animation?

I have some great 2D Stadiums done 10-15 years ago on these Forums.

Can I use them with the 3D animation?

Will the animation work with it?

I suppose you could but you still need to make a 3D file out of the flat 2d image and align the grid. Not sure how it would play

I was curious, so I tried it, but I don't think it will be possible given the angle of the diamond in the pic. The grid won't line up correctly. You can see the first base line is the only one that lines up.

That would be a great looking ballpark if it was converted to 3D

I think that is one of the great creations done by the stadium genius years ago, TeflonSkies... I have all of his beautiful stadiums, but they are all 2D.

I'm addicted playing out my games now in 3D, so I have to give up my beautiful stadium collection.

Wish some graphics guru would take the 2D classics and make them 3D compatible.

I have not made a stadium in a while (and probably have forgotten most of the tricks I had learned), but I may be willing to take a shot at re-creating that one for you when I get some time.

Isedelyod, I appreciate the offer, but that is just too much work... TeflonSkies once posted it took him 100 hours to create each stadium... he must have made 20-30 gorgeous stadiums... I have them all, but in 2D only.

Hopefully, OOTP will create more 3D stadiums for us... hopefully, minor-league stadiums... that's the type I prefer for my fictional league... 10,000 capacity and under... with no huge bleachers in the outfield... just landscape backgrounds and city backgrounds.

Probably just a dream of mine... but my animation dreams came true... may happen in the stadiums, too.

There's a lot of amazing minor league ballparks on this mods forum now. Have you tried eriqjaffe's?

Yes, I have looked at the fine work of eriqjaffe and also silvam 14... they really have done something great for the OOTP Community.

I will give them another look and hope I can find 20 3D stadiums for my new dynasty league.

I currently just use one default stadium for all my games... it looks like a minor-league stadium with a rural background... I want something with a small-town feel and atmosphere... only problem is I need 19 more like this default stadium.
