Please Help Me Understand Age Limits
I'm starting a historical game in 2000. I've run some tests with newest patch (Build 49?) and teams are still promoting teenagers to the bigs by the handful which is really annoying.
So I've set age limits for the Major Leagues at: min - 21 max - 55 If I've set the active roster age limits for the Major Leagues, why have all the minor league players under age 21 been released? The draft classes have nobody under 20 either, and all the players under 20 who would be in that draft class are just somewhere. And I can't find them in any menu, but they are searchable. I don't understand why the major league teams are releasing players that aren't on the major league roster, and therefore, shouldn't be held to the age limits of the major league roster. All I want is for teams not to be promoting children to the majors but there doesn't seem to be a setting for that that doesn't completely wreck my save. What can I do? I really don't want to have to manually edit 30 teams' rosters in Commissioner mode before every season. |

what are your age limits on each minor league level? if they are the same as Major leagues - that could explain it. Not certain without seeing what those levels have for age limits.

This might be it, I didn't set the minor league level age limits.
If I kept them at 0/0 would they default to the major league limits? I think I did this same things in 18 or 20, but the draft still didn't include any players outside the major league limits, even though they couldn't sign ML deals. |

Ran a test save with 22 to 55 for the major leagues and then various age limits for rookie leagues through AAA
20-35 for AAA 19-19 for AA 18-24 for A 16-24 for other leagues I thought this would do it but I'm getting the same issue: Any player 21 or under has been released (even those in the minor leagues listed above that clearly fall within the age ranges.) Now the draft is only for guys who will be 22+ when the offseason starts. Can someone please explain what I'm doing wrong? What is the point of the ang ranges in the minor leagues if they're seemingly overridden by the major league range? Is there some workaround for this that I can't figure out? Does anyone else run into this problem? Last edited by fnz; 05-08-2021 at 02:13 PM. |
