New OOTP 22 public beta patch (version 22.4.49) available!

Important: This patch is only for OOTP 22 versions which were purchased directly from us or resellers who use our version. It is also available via the Steam client with the public password below.
It is NOT compatible with the Mac OSX AppStore version!

Hi everybody!

Since the launch of patch 3 we have been monitoring feedback and fixed reported bugs. We would like to launch patch 4 officially on Friday, and to give this a bit of a test run first, we have prepared a public beta build, version 22.4.49.

We have tested this build for 24 hours and did not find any issues, however use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta. This patch is compatible with the previous patch for online leagues.

Changelist (22.4.49):
- Updated default roster sets and player ratings (need to start a new game for changes to apply)
- Fixed teams aggressively promoting draft picks to the majors
- Fixed overly fast development of speed+defense. Adjusted some player development values
- Fixed crash in creating tournaments specified by team region
- Adjusted some team depth chart construction
- Fixed some issues adding injured players to playoff roster
- Fixed last pitch velocity display
- Adjusted default widget widths in classic 2d for larger screen resolutions
- Fixed cash compensation (applied to wrong team, also applied when signing players between leagues)
- Added in-game sound for home team strikeout. Fixed sounds to load only by prefix
- Updated Live Start minor league parsing
- Korean Version: Updated many translated text items
- Added the option to change the speed unit from Mph to Kph. (Settings dialog, Misc. tab)
- PT: Fixed missing Add Friends button
- PT: Fixed transaction history with too many pages not being viewable
- Several other bug fixes and tweaks

How to access the beta on Steam:

• Quit OOTP 22 if it's running.
• Open Steam client -> Library
• Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 22
• Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
• Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: publicbeta22
• Click on "Check code"
• Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
• Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
• Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:

Oh man, the classic 2D widget thing has me excited, but the part mentioning larger screen resolutions has me worried. Please let this make career stats readable.

To see this changes take effect we need to start a new game? or only for the changes in the default roster??

If you are on screens 1600x wide or less, there's probably no change. But on screens larger than that, then those widgets will be a little larger now, so should be able to give a little space between career records.

Most changes should also work for anything in progress, as you said, other than roster changes.

Yeah, that didn't make it into this patch, but we should be able to add it back in later.

You can actually add that in yourself if you want it early. In the data/templates folder, the boxscore lines work in linescores_batting_line.tpl and linescores_batting_header.tpl control what shows up there. If you add lines with LOB in the same style as the other lines, it should show up there.

This wasn't mentioned by Markus, but a nice little fix for historical players was made which will now automatically update each historical park accurately after each season between 1901-present if you have downloaded and installed my stadium mod.....shameless plug

No, that is handled separately, so can only be edited in code. The linescore can handle that because we already pass in data for LOB to it, it just got missed from the template.

Welp, adding players' LOB column to the box score works - but the box doesn't adjust for the added width, as seen in the RBI column extending past the side.

Okay, so probably more will be required for it to be fixed properly. We'll investigate over the next bit and should have a proper fix for the next patch.

To clarify (and I'm probably using a made up example here), if my team field automatically changes from League Field 1 (1922-1925) to League Field 2 (1926-1945) the 3D model used will also update? I think previously that even if the designated field changed I still had to manually load the new 3D model. (And, yes, I'm using your mod.)
