Starting pitchers as relief pitchers?

Still pretty new to OOTP and Perfect Team, which I’m loving!

Is there any advantage / disadvantage to using starting pitchers in the bullpen?

Does their higher stamina hold true when used in relief? If so, why ever use relief pitchers?

Starters used to be very overpowered as relievers in past PT versions, but they’ve been nerfed a bit to make for more interesting trade-offs. They can make longer bullpen appearances, but only like a typical long reliever, not as long as they pitch when starting or following. And they need plenty of time to recover after a long outing, like other relievers, so they won’t get into as many games as a one-inning reliever. Beyond that, the ratings are what you see on the cards (there’s no longer a stuff bonus for starters in the bullpen), so it’s up to you whether your best relievers pitch better than your sixth-best and worse starters. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t.
