So you think the same iron/bronze cards you could lock would give you a shortcut to the next level?? Really? Then what would be the point?

Bronze cards could have been 5 points each. To have only non-live silver is a surprise.

I didn’t say it would be the same Bronze cards that should contribute. There are many other Bronze snapshot cards which could have been set at 5pts. If you put two or three such Bronze cards in each Silver mission then you could achieve the points goal through either three Silvers or two Silvers and two Bronze.

How were you able to figure out which cards were needed? Just curious...

The cards used on the missions are all the same year as the BAL card (with a few exceptions also allowing one year earlier or later) this was obvious after the bronze missions, I picked up most of the silvers at 500-700, problem is that the market has now figured this out so golds have been hoovered up, probably the large trading consortiums... sorry i meant F2P friends leagues

I’m a bit nervous about them switching things up a bit with the next missions now that we have identified the pattern for the first two promotions. There also don’t seem to be enough Gold level cards of the right types in the correct years to cover the thirty anticipated missions.

I did the same thing and on Thursday was able to pick up about 21 free packs from missions.

I really hope that they can find a way to address the terrible supply issue for the cards needed to complete the Silver missions. Spot checking a few of the BAL collection missions in the Auction House just now, about half of the needed Silver cards didn’t have a single card available and the other half had one or maybe two cards up for auction with the cheapest card costing 7,000. As things stand, the Gold cards needed for the next missions to unlock the Diamond BAL cards will be outrageously expensive to the point where it will lose all sense of fun.

Yeah, it's completely ridiculous. Early on I was able to complete four BAL gold cards for around 6000 pp each, or 2000 per silver mission card. But now no mission cards are available that cheap, like you say. And even 6000 is expense to obtain a gold card considering how many are available for around 1000 in the AH, or how many you can win by completing live missions for under 1000 pp.

I think it was a big mistake that the Silver missions only allowed Silver cards to contribute towards the points. In the Bronze missions there were at least a couple of Iron cards which earned you two points each. You still needed Bronze cards to complete the missions but at least the Iron cards could help get you there. The Silver missions should have included three Bronze cards worth five points each. Getting two of the three would mean that you just need two silver cards instead of three.

Of course, the bigger issue is the supply problem. If there was a larger supply of the needed Silver cards then the insanity of the market would be reduced.

I just opened 96 packs that I had won in tournaments. In those packs I got a total of six historic Silver cards. I haven’t checked how many of those apply to the BAL missions but that sums up the supply problem.

Also, I have opened at least 200 packs since the Negro League Cards were introduced. I have yet to see my first one.

Yeah NOT looking forward to that one, knowing Out of the Pockets you'll need three diamonds for each one and they'll all be listed on the AH for at LEAST 40k a pop.

I am really disappointed in the missions this year. I like to run franchise or era theme teams and simply keep all the cards from that team/era and sell all the rest. This year the way the missions are set up, I have no idea which cards to keep or which to sell. There seems very little logical connection between the cards that comprise a mission and the reward. So I have limited my theme teams and just simply open packs and play the best cards. Its taken most of the fun out of the game for me.

I think I have taken your luck on the negro league stars. I have pulled 99 papa Bell, 99 pop Floyd , 95 Larry Doby, 93 Louis Santop , and 90 Dick Lundy amongst other gold and silver cards. I’ve opened thousands of packs though because I pretty much sell every card of value that I don’t use

Nice pulls. I win about a hundred packs per week in tournaments. Since my post I have easily opened another 120-140 packs and still not a single Negro League card of any level. So I am up to somewhere in the 1600-1700 card range (not counting the guaranteed Bronze card in each pack) since the NL cards were introduced.

Something similar's happened to me with the Build-a-Legend cards. I pulled 5 of them before I knew what they were about (though thankfully I didn't sell them.) After I finally read up on them I was like, okay, I'm ready for more! Nothing since.

I disagree. I like the design of the missions so far. Much more logical than last year. There are already 354 missions compared to just 469 for all of last year.

Bronze. It helps that I’m working from home. I can make sure to have three tournaments going all day without being a big distraction.
