Live Missions Rabbit Hole

With the skyrocketting price of many of the cards needed to complete the live missions series (especially Cleveland and the Dodgers) and the tumbling L10 of the mission rewards, I have serious doubts about the logic of completing the live missions. I am probably way too far down this path to turn around now, but I am thinking I probably shouldn't have started.

Good point. I may try to finish with one team but I basically will wait with the my two OL teams. I am hoping enough people slow down and stop that the stupid silver prices stop.

I believe that there are future missions coming where having those Live mission reward cards will be needed.

I have come to the same decision. I will finish the team I am working on, which will complete the division, then just focus on the themes for my teams. I don't expect to complete many Team Legend missions, so will pick and choose as I go.

I am trying to finish them from pack pulls only to keep the cost down. Luckily there are plenty of packs available from tourney grinding at the moment.

Completed it in a week F2P style -- no $ spent except for the cost of the game. Going from a beginning base of 1K + starter's packs, I've netted players worth about 150K. You bet I'll dive in head first on my next team, too.

That said, the nerfing of the PT achievements really limits how competitive F2Pers can be. Getting the gold card packs and selling off some of the reward pieces in the Live missions enables you to tackle them with some effort -- but I'm not sure that I'll be able to compete long term and at the highest levels like I've been able to do in PT20 and PT21.

I broke tradition and bought $10 of points on day one so that I could build my Bronze tournament team. It paid off as I grabbed packs quickly and was able to complete the live missions in one week with 20K in the bank. I will be FTP for the rest of the season.

I generally just work on whichever mission bubbles up to the top of the list. Just looking for bargains in the auction house, while hoping to get some good players from the packs I get for missions and tournaments.

Definitely a bargain shopper here.

I was able to complete the NL Central and get Hack Wilson without much issue, but some of the teams in the other divisions are not worth the cost of completing them via the auction house right now for me. For the most part, the live cards are only going to go down in price going forward. In the meantime, I'm investing in all of the cheap non-live cards I can get in anticipation for the next batch of missions, as all of the non-live cards will at some point spike in value as they become part of new missions.

This is what I do. I set up filters on the AH at random times and just browse for bargains of cards I don't have yet that give me packs. I then hope to strike gold in said packs.

I FINALLY did yesterday, pulling Yogi and a Willie Brown in the same pack, which should be enough to build my silver tourney team.

The basic issue is

There are simply not enough silver cards in circulation. They need to increase the frequency with which they put silvers in packs to 1:15 or 1:12 - that would go a long way toward fixing the problem (which also existed in PT22). But as time goes on, the mission chasers will dwindle in numbers and silvers will fall to a saner price range.

Some of those silvers are going to drop to bronze on Monday which should help with the prices.

I don’t think that any of the cards which go towards the Silver Missions are Live cards. The historic cards don’t get updated and will remain Silver.

I only went as far as completing the "15's" and only if I could complete one with nothing higher than bronze. With each live update more cards get introduced (as well as downgrades of existing cards) for each team and I will continue that process, acquiring nothing higher than bronze to complete these missions. There is absolutely no point to rush to complete any of these missions.

The live cards that are low silvers right this moment could have a number of them drop to bronze after Monday's update. Perhaps I didn't communicate that well. I'm not talking about historical cards.

I too am frustrated, but continue on with pack pulls only. I am FTP and additionally am very frustrated that I've been way behind the probability curve on diamonds and perfects (only had 1). I will try to finish that way, but it is frustrating beyond belief.

It seems to me that the update added more live cards correct? Should be easier to complete live missions with these additions.

Once the new irons stop selling for 200-300 pp, sure.

Notice, Cleveland no longer requires any silvers to complete it.

But, yeah, it will still take a few weeks for the impatient buyers to be satiated. I sold the first bronze Peacock for 999......
