Tons of teams randomly "removed" in middle of the season

I downloaded the current hotfix that just released and after resuming my game and playing through a day I noticed that half of my organization was removed. The players on my lower division teams are still affiliated with my organization, however it says that I have to trade for them. Below is one of the players that is currently in my org, but on one of the teams that got removed.

Here is how my organization looks after it removed everything below AA for me.

I had 2 teams randomly expand in to my league in 2022, but here you can see they were removed and they now only have one game played despite being halfway through the current year

Below is what basically all of the international and lower level (R-A+) minor leagues looks like now.

I'm hoping there's an easy way to fix this because going through each league to rename & re-assign affiliations is just not realistic for so many leagues. Thanks for any help.

It looks like the save is corrupt.

You should be able to restore from the autosave function. Instructions on doing that follow:

To restore from the automatic backup, do the following:

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings.

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.

8) Now start the game and load your league.

Sometimes this might happen if a new patch triggers an anti-virus or anti-malware program to scan the OOTP data folder, and it returns a false positive.

So definitely make sure to whitelist/exclude OOTP and its data folders from any such programs as mentioned in the linked post on some reasons for corruption which are worth checking over.

This would work, however my auto save unfortunately has the day that it corrupted since I played 1 day before realizing. At this point I don't think there are any copies of my .dat files before the corruption. Do you know of a way to quickly correct teams in the league by importing a league structure? I don't mind one season being a little weird by having a team with less games played than the rest, but I'd at least like to keep playing my current file somehow.

Unfortunately this is not really possible as of now.

If you open a support ticket (or email support@ootpdevelopments.com) and send us your leagues files, its barely possible we might be able to do something to restore them.

But it's a real long shot at best and honestly probably not worth the effort unless it's a league you've been playing for a really long time and are really attached to.

I have experienced the same issue with my team. I have also noticed this happening with other leagues. FWIW, I imported my OOTP 21 game into OOTP 22.

You'll want to check out the thread I linked a couple posts above (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...29&postcount=3) for tips on preventing corruption. If you work through them, there's a good chance you'll be able to prevent this from happening again in the future.

Thank you, Lukas. I tried that, but unfortunately it did not work. I decided to start over from scratch.
