MLB Schedule Empty (Doesn't progress after WS)

I'm new to the OOTP series. I was going through my first run with the Toronto Blue Jays. Following the 2022 season, The schedule was empty. Nothing populated for MLB. No off season stuff, awards, HOF ballots.... no preseason... no season! I simulated all the way until July with nothing. It's the baseball season of my nightmares!

Have there been any other issues like this? I looked through the forums and I didn't notice any threads with this problem. I have the latest update, for the record. I guess I might have to just start over but I thought I'd bring this to the devs attention.

I have the same problem. My historical league just stopped working after the 1967 WS. It did let me do the draft but no winter meetings, rule 5, spring training etc and the schedule for 1968 is completely empty. Under the play button the only option at the bottom is to simulate to the end of the playoffs and if I hit that it just keeps simulating the days away to infinity.

If you want to try to upload your files for us to check over, we'll take a look.

But I think this is very likely the same sort of issue mentioned in this thread, which is a corrupt save game. The tips I mentioned there should hopefully help get things working again, or at least prevent a repeat in the future.

I tried to fix the save but I still have no schedule etc. I'm looking in to sending over my files. Thanks for the help! ( I ran the game all the way through 1970 and the offseason schedule appeared again. Seems to be working again. Thanks again)

Matt just commented on a similar issue in the main forums by saying this:

"Okay, it looks like the game is getting confused because some of the minor leagues have already generated their 2022 schedules. I think it's doing that due to having run an expansion before the season. We should be able to fix that going forward - for now, I would suggest going into your minor leagues and deleting their 2022 schedules, and then I think your MLB league should be able to advance to the offseason like normal."

I'm experiencing the exact same issue, and the possible fixes I'm seeing don't look the same. My save is the day after the 2062 season ended. Instead of going into the offseason immediately following the World Series, it just went to the next day. There are no scheduled events, no offseason, etc, and the autoplay function still considers us to be in the playoffs.

I have attempted simulating through the end of the year, but it just goes day by day with nothing happening. This sim was played from 2020-2060 on OOTP21, then ported to OOTP22 for the last two+ seasons without issue.

I uploaded my .DAT files to the FTP site under "Panthers 2062.zip," but am getting a "Page Not Found" error when following the link to submit a support ticket.

I've been getting this problem too. As of the newest version, it does not properly check if the playoffs end in the current league like it usually does. This happens if I expand the league, leading to unusual playoffs a season later (usually late November-December). This was never the case in earlier versions, as it properly checked if the playoffs ended in that league.

Been playing for several years, never had this issue in past games

If it helps you should be able to recreate it by just doing a standard game, schedule expansion draft, keep all the default settings, and then sim.

We'll get a more permanent fix out for this before long, but for now if you do the workaround I posed above, it should let you progress.

So prior to the start of 2021, I went into each minor league level and went to league settings -> edit schedule -> changed the year to 2022 and selected “clear schedule” ...although I don’t know what that does since there is nothing in there from what I could tell.

Simmed the season, same problem. If I try to edit schedule at that point it says “schedule can only be edited in preseason” which isn’t until March...it doesn’t prompt arbitration, or FA, or winter meetings. No prompt for rule 5 draft. When I get to March, I’m able to reset some minor league levels schedules, but others, it still thinks we’re in the post season. Still doesn’t advance to next season, the end of 2021 just never registered. I receive no user score, no message that says “congrats to so an so on winning the 2021 championship.”

I can recreate the problem and send you files if u need...

I believe we've already found a fix for this. I'll let you know if we do need anything else though.

In my case, expansion happened so I'm sure this is what caused my issue too. But, I kept figuring that at some point, the next season's events would start. I'm all the way out in January now, arbitration hasn't happened, or free agency, or anything. Can I set the date back to just beyond the WS, delete the minor league schedules then somehow or is the league messed up beyond repair?

It has happened multiple times without expansion. I sim through 2042 - 10x the league has done this (season doesn't end, no new schedule). It hap[pens within 5-10 years of start.

I'll wait for a patch before playing any more.

I'm not sure. You'd want to make a backup before trying that. You could also probably just try deleting the schedule where you're at. Worst case, you can probably send us a copy of the league and we should hopefully be able to fix it. At least we can try

We're especially interested in getting a league file where this didn't happen due to expansion like fcabanski mentions, I think we have the expansion related fix already, but we'll take a look and make sure.

I'm having a similar issue. Fictional league, after the end of the season the season never seemed to transition to the next season. no schedule generated, no computer trades...
