Same here. Even before there was 3D there was ball movement and stuff like that, that didn't interest me. Once, 3D came out I was hooked.

Love webcast view. Only thing it needs is quick access to the game log to see a summary of all plays up to that point.

I have played out a few games in 3D just to see what it was like, but I have never been interested in 3D graphics and probably never will be.

I'm a 2D guy, all the way. I don't even use ball animation. I play this game for the stats, the in-game management, the trades, etc.

That said, I'm glad my OOTP brothers and sisters who love 3D have that option.

I give 3d a shot every year, but I always end up falling back on 2d. There are just too many shortcomings in 3d that take me out of the game. The new parks are very nice though.

I usually play OOTP first thing in the morning or late at night, and try to avoid thinking too much haha. 3D serves that purpose best. I’m a horrible reader, and 3D on lightning (with all the same camera angles, no follow ball, no zoom - just fixed on overview) is faster than short PBP instant on 2D.

However, I always struggle with immersion for fictional or alternate reality leagues when every team has the same default ballpark. I go through a stretch of a few weeks every year where I design custom images in paint to be used in 2D or webcast, but can never get them to stick. What do y’all recommend for creating unique images? The most of any baseball game I ever played was MVP04 on GameCube, playing out every game in “manager mode” which is basically webcast. Made it to year 2024. Would love to play more 2D and am looking for stadium suggestions!

Another 2D fan. I just like the layout. But yes, I’ll try 3D for a few games in non-consequential games, simply to appreciate the improvements. Still, I’m playing for the strategy challenges and realistic stats.

Just wondering if anyone enjoys using modern 2D? Absolutely love the fullscreen aspects of it. However, wish they would come up with a better way to follow (read) the play-by-play in modern 2D. The short pbp makes it a little better. But, it's just easier to follow (read) in traditional 2D.

I'm in exactly the same boat. Could not have said it any better, myself.

Sums me up exactly.

I enjoy watching the 3D but there's just not enough info on screen during a game for me to manage properly. Hell, I've always wished there was a tab that contained a full, active scoresheet. I'm old, but nothing tells the story of a game like looking a scoresheet for me.

I use 2D exclusively. I play OOTP on my tablet (a Surface Pro 6), and I find that the 3D makes the device very warm. I'd probably use 3D at least occasionally if my tablet could handle it better, but it's not a big deal for me.

Exactly a simple game line of how they did in their previous at bats would be great when they come up to bat. It doesn't even have to be scorecard graphics fancy.

Have you tried 3D classic? I have found that I get more information on the screen that way.

Reading this thread, I would LOVE a scorebook view. Even just post game as an option to generate along with WPA or recap.

I play using the 3D, but that is a cool idea to add this option on a tab or link to the post game info. I would check it out.

I think a lot of gamers would like a scoresheet option. So much more informative than the traditional box score. Maybe it is just hard to program.

I, myself, am a 2D person with PBP. Kinda fun to imagine the team I put together is on radio and the sounds I hear are broadcast live from the stadium

Sort of.

I sort of do the same, but in 3D.

And often, I had the actual game on the radio when I was in the same time-zone as my Orioles.

It was a plus that they had Fred Manfra and Joe Angle at the time doing the radio broadcasts then.

I would continue right-on through the post game show.
