A Note on the Live Start

Hard to believe opening day is already here. Excited for another year of baseball action!

With the new season, the live start will open up and be available tomorrow. Before people go out, I just wanted to give one little tip that unfortunately we could a little late for the build that released today.

In your data/stats folder, there is a file called "draft_list.csv". Before running a live start, please delete that file. If not, then you may notice some weird issues with the first year MLB draft.

Other than that, enjoy the feature for another year. We'll obviously be monitoring things over the next little bit - obviously, until live data starts to roll in it can be very hard to know if errors will crop up. As usual, if you run into errors, we recommend running with the trace mode enabled, and then including that in any bug reports as that can help trace what part of the update failed.

Where did the message come up? There's no way deleing that file should cause an error like that, so feels like that must be just an odd coincidence

EDIT: I just tested this and had no issues. So definitely its not deleting that file that caused the error. I would guess you may've inadvertently deleted something more critical.

It did end up working for me, but when I deleted the file, all the 2021 draft eligible players including Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter, became free agents and weren't eligible for the draft.

Again, that's not really something deleting the file should affect (and it didn't do that when I tested) so I'm not really sure what's going on there. Did you delete the file before creating a new live start league of after it had already been created (or even after the draft was initialized)?

Odor still on the Rangers is a big one, but a few trades happened the last few days.

The actual OD rosters won't be until the next patch, likely sometime next week, but the Live start should at least clean a few things (trades, releases etc if not so much ratings changes) up if you use that in the meantime.

Also, my opening day roster is all wrong. Maybe this doesn't work until the first day is done?

Well, your OD roster will never be perfect, even once we release the patch with the OD rosters since it's ultimately up to the AI who to put where.

But at least the OD rosters will have some ratings changes etc to encourage the AI to make the 'right' choice as often as possible.

Ok. Thanks, Lukas. It's just my personnel on the roster. Both Kingery and Herrera are in Allentown as of three days ago. That's why I was wondering.

Right, that's kind of what I'm referring to as to the AI having its own mind on things.

Just using your example though, I did a lot more tweaking and finally got the AI to send Herrera down after the last patch came out. So next patch should reflect that and have him start in AAA.

But the OD roster will never be perfect because sometimes there's just no way to 'make' the AI do the same thing the real team did. f.e. there's typically nothing we can do when the AI wants to keep a 9th RP for example when a RL team is only keeping 8 or vice-versa.

Or sometimes the AI wants to play service time games and keep a prospect down when the rl team isn't playing service time games. Or vice-versa. Again, not much we can do there.

Yes. The file won't be removed from the game until the next patch.

Morning Folks (I'm in Colorado),

I'm unsure where to find this file to remove on my iMac; is this a windows only issue or am I to anticipate similar issues on an iMac. I'll keep clicking around to try and find it, but I'm looking for assistance.

You can find this file on a Mac by using the following path:

Users/whatever_your_user_name_is/Application Support/Out of the Park developments/OOTP Baseball22/stats/

I think it will have been fixed in the latest patch, would need dev to confirm though.
