One thing I noticed is that Nolan Gorman for the Cards has a 40 grade defense for SS. As far as I know he hasn't played SS since High School and he is already considered a so-so defender at 3B so of he has any abilities at SS they should be like a 25 or 30 at best

Trevor Stephan shoes on Somerset (NY Yankees affiliate) instead of Cleveland Indians. He was NOT released by Cleveland and returned to the Yankees like his history shows.

Juan Graterol - LA Angels - his Position & Defensive Ratings are all wrong. You have him listed as a shortstop at AA level with defensive ratings for almost all positions as if he were a utility player.....with Catcher being his lowest rated position.

He is primarily a Catcher with some 1B ability. Take a look at OOTP 21 and you have his ratings correct there.....

Trevor Stephen is and has been on Cleveland in our database since December so not sure what type of league you have started but if you start a "new standard game" he should show up on the Indians. Check before you make any changes. It is possible that if the game has advanced even one day perhaps the computer AI sent him back to the Yankees.

Sorry, I cannot reproduce this problem, every league I start he is on Cleveland.

Are you playing as the Indians? I just started a new game this afternoon and he is still on the Indians. Like jwisenberg said, if you are playing as another team and advance a day, the AI may release him and he will end up back with the Yankees.

I noticed Scott Alexander shows as a Free Agent in 2022. He is arbitration eligible in 2022 and a Free Agent in 2023.

I migrated a file from OOTP 21 to 22 and successfully hired a 1B coach.
However, my file will not generate 3B coaches, even after going into Commissioner Mode to develop my own. They are either spit out as 1B coaches or without a specific preference.

Screenshot attached showing no 3B coaches; this is not an exhaustive list of coaches but shows the homogeneity issue.

Max Fried needs some updating on his pitch arsenal. He throws 5 pitches (fastball, curve, slider, sinker and change) but only shows 3 in OOTP (fastball, curve, change). I'd also argue that his pure stuff rating needs an increase after the season he put forth in 2020, as well.

A look at his pitch usage of each is attached below.

Mike Soroka is also missing a fastball in OOTP as he currently only features a sinker, slider and change. I've attached his pitch usage info as well (attachment #2).

Lastly, Kyle Wright is mostly a sinker baller but he doesn't feature one in OOTP. In OOTP his pitch mix consists of a fastball, cutter, curve and change when it should feature a sinker, 4 seam fastball, slider, curve and change. He's missing the slider altogether and is showing a cutter rather than sinker. I've attached his pitch usage as well (attachment #3).

Odubel Herrera should be off the Phillies 40-man roster - he's been off for a while now.

Adam Haseley and Vincent Velasquez are back from their injuries.

Most guys don't get both a sinker and a fastball in OOTP (there are a few exceptions) because how a sinker works in-game is different from a 2-seam fastball in real life whereas in Statscast and Brooks baseball and other sites that track pitches, they generally classify most any 2-seam fb as a sinker.

We don't set the 40-man rosters, the AI does. But we'll make another pass or two through the db to try to get the OD rosters as close as possible in the next few days and Herrera is likely to get a ratings hit that will hopefully see him off the 25-man roster at least.

Injuries will also get updated during the process.

Thanks for response on the sinkers. Makes sense. If opinion matters, I believe Soroka should be the one, of the two, to feature both a fastball and sinker as he clearly throws a 4 seamer in addition to the sinker where as Fried’s sinker is more of a two seam, like you mentioned. Cheers.

Wright had a cutter, which I think was just an earlier version of his slider most likely. I switched that now so it's listed as a slider in-game, but he won't have a cutter any longer.

On Fried and Soroka, that's how I've ended up setting it up for now. We'll try to review though based on how their pitches and gb% end up looking this year.

How do hitters get classified as "groundball hitters" in the game? I noticed that Didi Gregorius is listed as one, but he hasn't had a GB% higher than 40% since 2016, and even then it was just 40.1% (per FanGraphs). That is definitely not a groundball hitter, at least in my opinion.

Also, I don't believe there is a way to change these settings in commissioner mode? Unless I'm missing it, I would rather do it manually rather than wait for a patch.
