Seems Really Well Done

I like this even better than I expected. The randomness really challenges one to stick to your ideas about what makes for a competitive team, and it can offer an opportunity to test your ideas with quick feedback. My game playing time availability has taken a big hit recently and this offers a quick dip in the pool. Nice work on a great idea.

Of course such praise comes with a but. I'm hoping that down the road we will be able to play more than just a single game at a time. Also hoping that there will be some tournament rewards that are packs.

Perfect Draft is a new feature for Perfect Team. Once you are in at lease Entry Pool with your Perfect Team, you can enter a Perfect Draft.

I would open up a support ticket to get that PP reward if you still haven't gotten it.

Didn't let me complete draft

So finally figured out how to do this perfect draft thing and only 10 minutes in to my draft the league started and kicked me out now i don't have enough players to play... and there seems to be no way to get back into my draft to finish it before games start.

I just won a 5,000 point tournament and when I wanted to examine the team, it said "deleted, only kept for 48 hours".

...I just won it 5 minutes ago, can we go back to examine?

One change I'd like to see is ensuring that an Iron catcher appears if you don't have two by the last round.

I've had it several times where I haven't taken a catcher by Bronze, and only one appears in the Bronze/Iron pulls. Or worse, none appears. Have also had it a few times when I've taken a catcher early but I don't want to waste a Silver+ pick on a catcher, but none appear in Bronze/Iron and I'm stuck with one.

Having done several drafts now - I think the randomness of positions in each round makes it better than being assured to get a backup catcher (or any other position) in the Iron Round. If you want to roll the dice and hope to get a C in the later rounds, that's your call and it could backfire. I just won a 5K PD with 89 Paul Lo Duca as my main catcher and he raked. I usually bank on filling out my bullpen in the last round, but I had a draft where only 2 pitchers showed up in the Iron Round so my pen was weak. Thankfully my starters were strong and it didn't hamper my team too much.

Good luck drafting!

I think that rolling the dice is part of what makes drafting fun. Hard decisions have to be made, and you can make no assumptions.

If you don't draft a second catcher, I would think you could, in your strategy set up, force another player to become a catcher for a game. I know that this happens in real life. I have seen a player put on the "tools of ignorance" because someone has to!

FYI: Somebody else posted this in the Discord, but it shows the distribution of players across primary positions for the entire Perfect Draft. So, it could be a good idea to count catchers as they appear (or count all positions, for that matter).

I'm loving perfect draft, super excited to see the game evolve as more cards are released.

I'm having a bit of a glitch between 2 different Win10 PCs, hoping someone could point me in the right direction for a setting or something.

On my main PC (4k monitor) in PD mode, on mouseover I see each player's defensive ratings in the mouseover info. On another PC with a regular 1920x1080 the mouseover has no position/fielding info.

Main PC

Other PC

I'm guessing the version without the mouse-over is on an older version. I believe we only added the position list there for the release version, not the earlier public beta versions.

Sounds to me like the computer should do that for you. I already have to keep track of too much stuff on paper already.

I'm left-handed and played in a men's league in my late 20s. We had no catcher but our SS's father was left-handed and a high school coach so he had a catcher's mitt. I'm not very good so I wasn't starting anywhere else and we didn't have a catcher so I got handed the mitt, was asked if I was wearing a cup (not that they would have cared) and wished good luck. The guy on the mound threw what felt like 90 with a drop off the table curve. I'm sure it was more like 75 but that was last time I ever did that.

I'm really liking the PD. All three of my teams are FTP (as of now). So until I build up a roster of silvers and golds, I'm only running one team in Bronze tournaments as of now. I really don't like the Iron tournaments. So, I'm just constantly running PDs.

Enjoying PD! Until the devs get the feel of how people are playing and drafting, would LOVE a quick patch to allow up to two PDs at a time.

That way I can park a draft in one of the bigger, but slower firing drafts, and able to "quick play" draft.

Perfect Draft is a great addition to OOTP, and I am absolutely grateful for it.

My only issue with it is the fatigue. I like how it forces us to build a complete team. What I dislike about it is that fatigued players make far more mistakes, which, at least on defense, is bore out in the form of well below average team fielding percentages. Too many games are being decided by random chance events like errors by semi-fatigued players.

Yeah, the game should assume that the players have a day off after game 2, 4, etc. Position players are tiring way too quickly.

How is this any different than other tournaments? You really benefit if you sweep a series and your team can rest, otherwise you might not have any days off. You need to draft backups well and if possible schedule one day off per position player during a series. If they all get tired at the same time then it can be really hard to recover.

This mode is highly entertaining (and addictive). I love the concept. However, man, I have been jobbed on some of the random card options that pop up. A couple of times, I've been left without a position or adequate backup. It's fun to see what you can come up with, though.
