yes. Typically it's very stable and I haven't come across any major problems so far even through the public beta.

Eh, the fact that you are asking should answer your question. OOTPD does a great job but there will be a patch #1 that will fix issues that you may want in your game. I'll mess around this weekend but I'm not devoting major time to a new league for a few weeks at least.

You could wait until Opening day next Thursday. That's when final rosters will be updated. You can start whenever you like but you will need to start a new game when the rosters are updated. You can mess around until then.

Some stuff in the rosters will be being updated for well beyond then too, especially for other leagues, the draft pool etc.

But yeah, for MLB transactions, more or less final ratings, transactions etc will be done by the patch that comes around OD.

final mlb rosters aren't the biggest issue for me, but your saying OD update will have draft pool fixes?

Will the patch fix non-roster stuff for existing saves? Ive spent my entire time playing the game since Tuesday modifying settings to set up my long term save, and Id hate to have to re-do it all.

We can't say for 100% certain since we might still find bugs, but most of the time, the first patch will be about fixing obvious bugs, updating the roster set with any changes, and the rest tend to be little tweaks to AI or logic that should not impact any settings changes you are doing.
