A few suggestions for the game
I have the Steam version of the game and have been playing it while I await OOTP 22 and FHM definitely needs some work to become a more polished product.
Things I would like to see are simulation speeds and loading speeds of the game improved. They are very slow on my computer which is an AMD 5950x and 64 GB of RAM, but the game moves at a snail's pace at the moment. Contract management for both the player and AI needs to be improved. I see too many players leaving their teams once their RFA rights are up, which is indicating to me that the AI is not handing out long-term contracts to its players who deserve it. This is followed up by getting absolutely massive discounts on your own star players who are still in RFA. For instance, I landed Cale Makar for a 7-year contract for 5 million per year and he's one of the top players in my game. That doesn't reflect how things are working in real life, as there aren't many bridge deals(2 to 3 years at a moderate salary or "prove it" salary) happening. Teams with star players are locking themselves upon their first contracts and giving them significant term and salaries (McDavid, Marner, Rantanen, Eichel for example). I would also like to see a numeric option in addition to the star option to determine a player's current status and potential is. OOTP has a few options for this and I personally like to see numeric metrics put in place to determine the value of the player(2-8 scale, 20-80 or 1-100 scale would be nice). Lastly, and probably the least important one and its Steam achievements. Some of the achievements are just not worth pursuing. I don't want to have to play every league and historic team to attempt to gain achievements. I would like them more team-based, and individual player-based so you can earn achievements with one current team that you play right now there is very little incentive to continue on with one single team for an indefinite amount of years if you like to collect achievements. I will have more to add as I keep playing and I want to see the game succeed, but it definitely needs more polish on integral mechanics.

I would assume contract management is one of the most difficult aspects of the game to program, and it’s almost impossible to get it perfect I imagine. But I agree that there is a lot of room for improvement. Young superstars are cashing in now, and ideally I’d like to see that reflected in FHM as well. Let’s say we’re talking about a 23 year old centre coming off a 90 point season, no way he signs a 3 year contract at 4.5 per..
Also on the topic of contracts and AI, I wish teams would have a better handle on their financial situations. I’ve seen situations of 26 year old superstars coming off a Hart Trophy winning season sit in free agency for an entire calendar year. I assume this was simply because no teams had the available money to afford their service.
