Is it possible to look into the licensing issues with historical stadiums?
Other games have had historical stadiums featured. Who owns the "likeness" of these stadiums? If we had official historical stadiums in the game would OOTP need to renew their license to use these models every year? Last edited by Garlon; 03-24-2021 at 10:08 AM. |

So, I take it from this discussion that the resources used to make the modern stadiums are not /will not be available to modders in the stadium construction kit? I kinda thought that was the whole point of the kit. Oh well.

Don’t think the professional tools they use to design those quality stadiums are available for free or would be easy to just pick up and make high quality historical stadium like them. There is a reason they get paid to do it and I don’t Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If I install the historical stadiums, will the new official 3D stadiums automatically take effect in the appropriate year (i.e. The new Yankee Stadium in 2009)?
Also, I forget, if I install the historical stadiums before I create the league, will the correct stadium models get automatically assigned? Will they them automatically change in the correct years? Thanks! |

Silvam,
Your parks are the greatest! Is there a folder with your latest versions? I've just been copying over my old files of your parks since maybe 19 or 20. How could I get the latest versions (or ensure that mine are up-to-date)? Thanks a thousand times over for your great work from a player who loves playing the game in different historical eras. |

I've also added a night texture to the lights for parks with them and fixed some other small things I saw. If you can wait a few more days, I should have them all up by then. So far the only ones I have uploaded is Metropolitan stadium versions if you want to check out the angles and see if it is worth it

I think in 22 with the way the camera following the ball has been made more realistic makes the presentation of the parks that much better! Oh an I will update the links as I upload. I expect to start tomorrow. There are around 197 parks to upload and link, so it may take a bit

I feel that the best way to improve these parks is to get the kind of feedback you provided on this. It is invaluable to me what features of a park were important, or noticeable to include as I don't really know much outside of Fenway. Enjoy!

There is actual licensing for ballpark likeness? I know this is the case for player likeness but never knew they had this for structures. Yes, Silvam's ballparks are great! |

Ootp could release some historical ballparks for a decent price. Yeah i know its extra payment but we do get a lot for free.
It doesnt keep you from playing the game. Its not like paying for a player in which they updated 2 ratings. From the look of what ive seen it seems like there is more effort into making the ballparks. So i wouldnt mind buying a stadium at a decent price. I dont see this as a game trying to make a quick buck. If they charged for the current stadiums then i could see that. But these are additional ballparks, people like them and it takes some work to make them so why not reward both ootp and the customer? There would still be plenty of ballparks for Silvam to make. Would be nice if ootp could hire Silvam to work on the ballparks. |
