A Few Questions About Spring Training in OOTP

Question for those that have done some testing on this. We know that spring training in OOTP removes rust. If you opt to disable spring training, is ST simulated, meaning that players begin the year with no rust? Or will their condition at the start of the season be the same as if they were reporting to ST?

Another question relating to the fact that we don't have split squads. Do all players benefit from being on the ST roster just for being on the roster or do they have to actually play? If they don't benefit, what's the point of 60-man rosters when there's no way to give enough time to all of them without split squads?

All of my evidence is anecdotal, but I haven't seen a direct benefit to adding your hot shot 4+ star potential A ball player who only get a few PH AB's in ST.

I have seen SP's who are low minors that I have on the roster pitch out of the bullpen in spring training and have big drops in stamina. I have no idea if that's because of their use in spring training but there have been several who have had big drops, like 75 to 50.

I usually only have about 50 on my ST roster. My 40-man plus my top prospects and AAA vets.

I usually have 30ish players in ST. All the position players get to start some games. Often at positions they don't play well.

Don't forget you can also sign FA for spring training with condition of a major league contract if they make the team. Spring training invitees.
