It's basically the opposite (you want contact) and it doesn't work well IMO.

It's used to try to force a ground ball/double play. You want to use pitch around if you want to try for swing and misses

Yep. You would want to use pitch to contact if your pitcher has a high ground ball percentage. But, I've never been sure if it actually works that well in the game. I just use it as another way to become immersed in the illusion that I'm actually a baseball manager, giving my pitcher signs from the dugout...

I would think Pitch to Contact should reduce the chance of both walks and strikeouts.

I use it when I am either up or down by 4 runs. It usually results in less pitches per out and allows the current player to last long.

I think pitch to con is a way to throw pitches to a dangerous hitter . Sort of like...avoid a big hit without intentionally walking the batter.

This is not correct. It's used to create contact, nothing more. It may lead to more ground balls with a ground ball pitcher, but pitch to contact will only reduce the chance for walks and strikeouts. It's a strategy that should only be used with a big lead or way behind.

Dear god, no. Using pitch to contact against a dangerous hitter is going to give that hitter numerous pitches to hit. If you don't want to give in to a dangerous hitter, you should use the pitch around strategy.
