OOTP 22 questions
I have OOTP 21, if I have a league and carry it over to OOTP22 will it allow me to use the live feature when the 2021 MLB season starts?
Trying to understand how the live feature works. |

No. I don't know why you would do that either. Live start only applies when you start a new save.

So if you have a draft league and it's next season is the current 2021 season, there is not an option to have the players' ratings fluctuate depending on how well they are actually playing in the current MLB season?
The "live" feature is only good for a one season league only? You can not continue the league to 2022 season using live? You would have to start a new league the following year? |

In the main game (not Perfect Team) there is no "Live" feature. What does exist (as mentioned above) is Live Start, which allows you to start a new game from any point in time in the current season that has already been played (so up to and including the day before you start the save). This allows you to simulate the remainder of the season using current rosters and standings. Ratings for players in the main game start out based on a proprietary projection model and then change throughout the game based on in-game play, position experience and influence from your team's coaching staff. Real-life performance has nothing to do with ratings changes in the main game. The only aspect where real-life performance affects a player's ability is in Perfect Team, where Live Card (non-historical) player ratings start out the season based on PECOTA (or maybe ZiPS?) and then gradually are replaced by ratings based on real-life stats. So that midway through the season, player ratings are 50/50 projection and real-life, and by the end of the season they are 100% based on real-life stats and are then locked in for the remainder of the time the PT servers are switched on.

Thank you for taking the time to explain so nice! I understand now. Maybe what I was hoping for can be option one day in the future.
Thanks again! |

The only way "live" updating would work is if you played one game a day along with the MLB team (and didn't play on off days). Otherwise any "live" player changes would take effect in your game well past the time they did with their real-life counterparts, defeating the point of it.
In other words once you live start, you've created a whole new parallel universe. |

Do we know for sure that we can import a game from '21 to '22? And all the upgraded features will still be available?
