So does Speed effect the ability to score SF?

So does Speed effect the ability to score SF?
People don't care about speed on here because they think it only effects Rate at attempted steals.

I ran 1 team set the Speed to 1 for every player for 20 years.
Yes stolen bases were non existent.

But for 20 years the team had the lowest SF flies each year....about 9 a year.

Please have 2 separate ratings, one for actual speed and one for rate of stealing.....they should not be the sam

What do you mean by Speed? Running Speed cause if so via the manual

Running Speed
Running Speed is a measure of how quickly a player can run from one base to the next. Players with a high rating in Running Speed are more of a threat to steal bases, and are more likely to advance further on a ball in play. Running Speed is strictly for offensive play. For example, Running Speed does not factor into an outfielder's range. However, Running Speed and Defensive Range are linked internally. For example, as a player ages, his speed and range will generally decline at the same pace."

If the first is true then yes this would affect SF's. Would affect all aspects of running between the bases. Advancing runners from first to third, scoring from second. Extra base hits.

When you play out games, on a lot of fly balls you can decide to advance a base based on depth (shallow, normal, deep) Running speed (poor, good excellent), And Outfielder's arm) Poor good great excellent) So speed does matter when running the bases. Yes I know I am missing some og the descriptors Arm and speed are same as ratings color.

What is interesting is that baserunning ability appears to be factored into "speed" for this purpose. For a while I was wondering why some of my slower guys were being called fast when the choice popped up. I guess they figure with better baserunning, you get a quicker start on a sac fly. But it's just something you might overlook when playing out games since baserunning ability isn't shown when the player is on base.
