New fighters for an oldtimer ??

I have had both versions of this game but haven't played in awhile and haven't been on these boards in a long time. Does anyone know if they are doing an updated version of the game? Boxing is starting to really pick up again like back in the 70's & 80's and I would love to have all the new stars ( Fury- Wilder - Spence - Crawford - Lopez - Inouye - Garcia - Porter- etc,etc. ) You get the Idea. I would love to see this updated as I'm sure everyone would. Anyone have any info on this??
Or has anyone took it on theirself to rate new fighters? I would love to do it but don't have the time ( or the smarts to do it). I really love this game and am looking forward to get back into it. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a way to get updates working in 2.5.

When you run the update function, you'll probably get three "error importing records" messages. That's fine, it still gets all the updates through June of 2016. Once you've done that, go into your config.ini file and change the time stamps to:

TimestampFighters=20180516000000
TimestampRatingRecords=20180516000000
TimestampFighterBios=20170217000000

Then run the update function again. It should work from there and for future updates.

In windows the config.ini is at:

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments\Title Bout Championship Boxing 2.5

You might not have the Roaming folder, Out of the Park Developments could be directly under AppData.

The parameters you need to change are at the very bottom of the file, under Web Options.

NOTE: You may be missing some of the updates done between June of 2016 and May of 2018. If you want them, you'll need to input them manually.

ALSO NOTE: You'll probably get some nameless strawweight fighters. You can fill in the names and data from the boxrec ID's, or replace the fighter files with the ones posted HERE.

I really happy that you posted this information. I knew it existed but since I picked up a new copy of 2.5 for my new laptop I haven't yet changed the config ini file. I really happy to see the instructions,

Glad I could help. Realized it was posted in pieces in several different threads and needed to be combined into one.

I wish somebody with db access would fix those nameless SWs. They are annoying.

Believe it or not, that's progress.

You probably need to reset your timestamps. Set all three to 0 and do "Update Data Pool". Then set them as above and do it again.

I was finally able to get the game to update last week. I re-installed 2.5, used the universe pilight posted in April, and updated from that. Success.

It's going to replace the tb2.5 file under Program Files/Out Of The Park Developments. Make a backup of your current one (call it tb2.5old or something) then extract the patch to replace the current file.

The "token missing" error comes from not being able to connect to the download site. Usually it's because the domain name is wrong in your config.ini file. It should say "Domain=tbdata.titleboutboxing.com".

You know how it is with computers. If you miss a / or a dot or misspell a word the darn thing won't work. Only meagre suggestion I have is to start over from scratch and follow Pilight's instructions to the letter.

Also let him know what kind of system you have. If you have anti-virus software running. If you have any supporting software missing. The usual stuff. Also check the tech section.

That looks right. The first eight numbers are dates in YYYYMMDD format.

You haven't moved the game from where it was installed or renamed its folder or anything like that, have you?

Just my two cents.

When I got the game (2.5.27) to update I did this:

I created a universe in game and exited out.

I went into the savedgames folder, deleted my save and replaced it with the universe pilight posted in April 2020.

I changed the lines at the bottom of config.ini, but I used the lines at the bottom of the config.ini that was included with pilight's universe. These numbers did not end with zeros!

I followed the rest of the instructions, and everything updated correctly. Good luck!
