Too many Players AZL team

My AZL team had over 200 players. By adding more rookie league teams and releasing players I now have 109 players. How can I fix this? Has this happened to anyone else?

It happens over time. You need to get rid of some of the players

Do you have minor league free agency turned off? Check your league setting under financials and scroll to the bottom of the left side and see what your "minimum service for minor league FA" is set at. Should be 6 years.

Are you signing all 35 of your draft picks every year? That could also be the issue. After 5 years of doing that, you'll have a ton of 1/2 star guys that you can't promote and are still under team control. Only sign enough players to fill your lowest roster with no more than 40 players.

Some years I'm only signing 15 of my 35 picks and the most I sign is around 22-25.

You have to periodically go through your minor league system and purge it of guys with no future as big league players. If you allowed over 200 players to be on your Rookie team that's a result of neglect, not because there's anything wrong with the game or your settings.

I used to see this in earlier versions all the time, but now I use service time limits on each level and also use roster size limits and that problem never happens anymore.....I also let my Asst GM handle my minor league promotions/demotions with the exception of my top 20 prospects and any guys I find that I want to give a long look at, then I will lock them in where I want them to be.

** I should add that at the end of each season, I take a look at my minor league teams and will release guys that are 24 and older that are still sitting in A ball or lower (not A+ ball).

The system I use is this and has worked out really well for me:

AAA - 28 Man Roster - No Service Time Limit
AA - 30 Man Roster - 5 years Service Time
A (both) - 32 Man Roster - 4 years Service Time
Short-A - 35 Man Roster - 3 years service time
Rookie - 40 Man roster - 2 years service time
DSL - 40 man roster - 3 years service time

That, and I also do a purge on the day of the draft to clear space for the next draft class.

I'll promote them if they're worth a darn, otherwise they get released when they're 20 years old.

I dump anyone with a FV below 43 into the DSL, since I don't care about those teams.

Personally In my Universe 20 round draft with 25 round created draft.
I set the age limits for the leagues (R) 25 (LOW A) 27 (HIGH A) 29 (AA) 33
I used to have this issue a lot but I haven't had it in 27 in game years so far but I also have 2 INT Leagues 20 teams each with 40 Minor league teams and small drafts Plus a Independent league.
